I have a brand new turntable i bought two years ago. I never had any issue with playing vinyls, never skipped even once.

But the LP skips during Purple Rain. Does anyone else has the same problem? Should i complain? I mean, it was a expensive boxset, but i don't know if i should return it for a problem in one specific song.

If I was sure the problem was the vinyl and not my equipment, I would not hesitate to request a replacement.

If you don't it will drive you crazy "4Ever", and then it will be too late.

1) Let's hope it's not a Crosley. Their needles are shitty for vinyl. A lot of record stores won't even guarantee a product for return if the user has a Crosley turntable. (Just putting that out there for everyone.)

2) Often times, not every time, these things are a counter-weight issue. It wouldn't necessarily happen over the course of the full side of a record. The weight, or if the turntable has moved a bit, could affect the playing depending where it lands on the record. Adjust the arm and its weight and see what happens.

I would be interested to hear if others have the exact same issue. Those sorts of issues are more infrequent when pressing vinyl. So it's interesting to hear when it does happen inherently to that pressing.
