So one benefits PP and the other the Estate. shrug

Isn’t PP part of the estate?

I don't know anymore. I just have feelings. But I'm assuming the funds raised for PP are for whatever PP needs, isn't there a hotel to plan? And what is for the Estate is for whatever improves the Estate which I'm guessing includes NPG Music. Then NPG Music I think is it's own thing also so to keep from beating around the bush further, the Estate is the family I'm assuming at this point.

Where is the contract because it was my understanding all contracts were rescinded?

Just asking.

I have to find it but the licensing deal was the only thing rescinded. The deal with Bravodo was kept and UMG died adminstration for his catalogue although they appear to spend no time actually dealing with copyright infringement which according to Dr. Funkenberry was the reason Prince took the adminstration of his music from them and brought in house.

It may have been part of the settlement with Comerica that all ties with UMG would be severed.

So we are not really sure UMG is working on copyright infringement although we know MarkMonitor is working online copyright infringement.

Part of being the administrator is looking out for copyright infringement of the songs. Remember it was UMG that went after the dancing baby. It was UMG that settled with Marvin Gaye estate first when Pharrell ripped off “Got To Give Up “ because they did not do their job. Not sure what sort of admin work they are doing under the LM deal.

Speaking of UMG: I am in a fan group (non-Prince group) on Facebook for a specific band. The administrator of the group was sanctioned by FB because she posted an unofficial video which had the band's music in it - UMG had FB take her down for several days. They do not play around.

Well it is good to see they are doing their job. If they do not do anything they would be violating their agreement as the admin.

But would that constitute breach of contract?

Nelcp I dont think there is a contract in place any longer.

Wow, what a mess. I say that, cos then Londell and Koppleman got a commision for nothing. That is my opinion.

Why can’t Prince Estate do something like this? Start out with all released music and then add live performances and vault material over time?

I'd like them to start backwards from Prince's most recent unreleased material and albums. We, as hardcore fans, are the only audience for that afterall. The value of any post-95 material is at its highest now, while we're all still alive and interested.

It could be that simple, but are they still trying to determine who owns what? Also, could it be that the primary motivation is money? Neil Young might give it away, but the Prince estate needs cash and the heirs want cash.

It shouldn’t be given away. But honestly how hard could it be to get a site up and running where this music can be purchased? If I can purchase on iTunes and Tidal why can’t I purchase on prince.com?

It is not that hard. I hope when the family takes over they do set up a Prince.com and start selling stuff. I just think Comerica is not interested in running a music/merchandise website.

The Niel Young archives is free until June 30 then a “modest” fee will be put in place.

The Estate recently approved a license for the NPG to perform as NPG New Power Generation.

I hope this means they can now do concerts in the US!

.

Prince had plenty of fans who could have done such a thing. Instead he gave the jobs to incompetent fuckwits who dazzled him with glossy BS, while attacking those fans who'd always been more professional thna he himself. He attacked Uptown while putting his official seal on a lame fan mag that had entire pages filed with Egyptian mythology. And then that fan mag ripped off its subscribers.

.

Go back to the earliest days of the NPGMC and you'll see knowledgable people telling Prince to abandon the craptastic QuickTime app and stop with the pretentious nonsense and the increasingly illegible Princebonics and instead deliver an easy to use website and quality encodes of audio and video.

.

Back in the days of the CB debacle people were pointing out that an amateur online shop run by their mother selling homemade stuff was run more professionally than 1-800-New-Funk.

.

Meanwhile it's 2017 and the estate still hasn't figured out a way to ship books outside the USA.

The estate (Comerica) is not running Paisley Park. Graceland is managing it and I think they know how to ship they just do not want to. They do not know what sort of fanbase Prince had outside of the states and all corporations do have a certain amount of a learning curve to get over when taking over a property.

Give it sometime and as much as you bitch about Prince and the people he hired I sure hope you tried to apply for the job.

Also their is an interview with a Jakie Thompson a young lady who worked on CB and she explains exactly what happend with the shipping and also explains how many of those CBs were distrubuted and paid for. Prince made money off of that project and at the end of the day that is what matters when running a business something that seems lost on someone who champions bootleggers.

There is some sort of entertainment business transaction that Comerica wants to enter into and SNJ are objecting to the transaction. There are numerous pages of heavily redacted documents filed including an Affidavit from Troy Carter.

What a shame that these 3 cannot be brought out and sent on their way. They argreed that Comerica would be able to make business deals under 2 million without their say and just the fact that they are stating that the deal can wait shows you they know nothing about business.

The [redacted] is an exciting opportunity for the Estate to partner with [redacted] one of the leading entertainment companies in the world to [redacted]

Why would SNJ object to this other than someone is advising them agains it because they’re no longer getting a piece of these deals? To me “exciting opportunity” = $$ for the Estate something one would presume SNJ would be interested in. confused

Cousin's appeal of attorney fees is still pending.

Once he loses he will also appeal to the Supreme Court of Minnesota.

But as in the other cases above, it is discretionary and not automatic as to whether the Supreme Court will hear the case.

Isaid, thank you very much. Hopefully, this cleans everything up. There is still the copyright infringement pending in Florida and Rhode Island (may be wrong on that state). Dixon is still stringing along (though not as bad).

Also, TMBGITW lawsuit is still on-going.

Exactly, that vultrue is going to advise against any deal that he cannot get his hands on and he is going to cost the estate money and time. He is so vindictive and greedy it is unreal.

Despite all that's redacted sounds like there's something ready to happen...outside of the objections that is. And Londell isn't necessarily removed from seeing what's happening, seems he wants the option to tweet about it.

"As set forth in detail in response to the Nelsons' petition to remove the Personal Representative, the Nelsons have no one to blame but Mr. McMillan for his refusal to execute a non-disclosure agreement with the Estate."

They can appeal to the Supreme Court of the United States.

lol

The US Supreme Court receives literally thousands of appeals per year, and grants less than 100.

Their chances are nil.

I think the chances of the Supreme Court hearing the case of a bunch of ninnies who think they can inheirit money because family members were buddies and rumors have no chance.
