my opinion, the white fans didn't particularly favor the r&b ballads, never did, as Prince said in a 90's interview "they totally write off my slow jams".

When did Prince say that? There are heaps of "White" and "Other" fans like me, who love that stuff, those creamy, sexy and majestic R and B ballads are what makes him. Prince's appeal was trans racial as he could play so called White and Pop/Rock music and then cover R&B and soul as well as any Black artist can.

he had a lot of fans from his crossover, he said it himself, they ignore his slow jams. Do Me baby was the first and probably most basic of his R&B ballads, i tend to think that his slow songs may have influenced black music longer than his minneapolis funk did, they'd stopped imitating the vintage minneapolis sound by the late 80s. Of course, his last major hit was the ballad The Most Beautiful Girl In The World so that was the exception but did any of his other slow songs ever hit? International Lover, Adore, etc.., etc.., all the way up to his last albums with some great ballads that never hit.

No Crystal Ball?! (Which I really don't like actually, but everone else does), 17 Days, Scandalous or Alphabet St.

On the list I don't care for Anna Stesia, Forever In My Life, Sometimes It Snows In April and Joy In Repetition. Ok, now you're all free to kick me in the balls boxed

However, If I Was Your Girlfriend and Adore are so mind-boggling exceptional that you could have left them as the only songs on the list and I still would've been happy.

"Dreamer" wasn't recorded during the Warner Bros. Years.
