From the TODAY show when Al Roker was at Paisley Park, there was a written piece called Stay Cool in the recording booth and I believe Al made the comment saying that was his last piece he was working on, but we really don't know if it was or not...

I believe the last known composition (as well as the last new composition being released) was Ruff Enuff. But titles of later compositions may have been revealed before or after Prince passed, without me noticing or remembering it.

Stay Cool lyrics are on the music stand in the recording booth of Studio A. Said to be the left as he left them before he died, and part of the Black is the New Black project that wasn't finished.

Unless he dated his notes, we'll never know the last composition. It seems it was definately his last recording, if it made it recording stage.

Revelation was written 2 years before he died. There were plenty of other recordings.

I heard "Black is the New Black was finished,I don't think it would be on the "Let's Suggest 2 Sharon What the Next 2 Releases Should Be From The Vaults" poll if it wasnt

What I mean is, he didn't usually put a date on his lyric/composition hand written sheets.

So Stay Cool may have been the last song on a music stand, and likely the last thing worked on, but bearing in mind he hadn't unpacked his travel case from days before his death, we don't know for sure if it was it was his last composition.

He may have written something in the days inbetween.

Equally, we don't know that Stay Cool was not a song that may have been written days/weeks/months/years before it made it to the music stand.

I would love it if it was finished.

Mitch at Paisley Park was adamant that, contrary to rumor, it wasn't finished. Obviously 'finished' is a flexible term without Prince. Unless there was a form of mastering or pre-publication documentation, there will be differing opinions.

Pangea was the last song I ever heard about in print. This was written after Baltimore, and was to be another showcase of the 'new minneapolis sound' as Prince coined it, which added orchestration over his guitar solos, just like Baltimore did.

Surely a ton more written/recorded after that song, but I don't know if we could ever really know.
