New Mini Series about Prince.

I love how their is so much interest in him now that he is gone !!! mad

http://www.dallasobserver.com/music/dallas-musician-ronnie-heart-opens-up-about-playing-prince-in-docu-drama-for-reelz-channel-9946474

Heart says the miniseries isn't heavily plot-based. It will feature a mixture of interviews with people who knew Prince and re-enactments of select events.

"It’s going to address his famous romances, his early life. I think it’s going to show a lot of his personality as far as him being very controlling of his artistry and of all the musicians he played with," he says.

It sounds horrible. First of all, its only the beginning of his story, secondly, its on REELTV and thirdly, the actor playing him describes him in a way that seems focused on his flaws.

Count me out.

what is NOT cool is excluding anyone from any role or job based solely on their race or gender or any other class-based identifier.

It's like if someone made a george michael movie and made him a straight male even though he was a gay man.

I wish they would leave him alone. If they got nothing good to say... I mean, focusing on his womanising and control issues... Yeah, that really sums up a person who was known for this musicianship. Let's focus on the negative and the possible dirt.

so was jennifer lopez a racist when she played Selena?

Edit:

to me, the overall look is more important. and as I said race should not be used as the sole exclusion for any job. Should Idris Elba be banned from playing James Bond just because he is black?

is Lin-Manuel Miranda racist for playing Hamilton?

James bond is a fictional character anyone can play a fictional character, prince was a real man not a fictional character. And as far with Jlo playing Selena..they've should've cast a Mexican American for the role but J lo is from latin heritage, they have greek actors playing Italian roles all the time.

still the point is if an actor can pull it off they should be allowed to play a roll with being called racist.

Hasn't REELZ done a few shows on Prince already, now they need a mini-series? This is evidence that people really want something that tells them something about Prince. The interest in the man seems to be very high. I'll probably pass through it long enough to roll my eyes but don't see myself watching a full mini-series of speculation and misinformation, I've seen some of REELZ stuff, so I'm not hoping for anything worth sinking ones teeth into or that'll answer what fans really want to know.

I watched it and it was a steaming pile of shit. Horrible acting, dancing, story line, and production. The actor slighty resembles him, but that’s it. If you are a true Prince fan, you’ll be annoyed and offended by most of the mini series turds.

Oops! I read Reelz and assumed it was the ones they’ve been airing lately. But guess what? I bet it will suck.

They don't want to portray the real complex person as he was. That is not sensational enough. (?) The idiots think only dirt sells. Maybe someday they will put out a good portrayal movie, but not in these days.

The next time we have a film about Malcolm X or MLK it would be good to have a blond hair guy play them. Or about we do a biopic on Brain Wilson and have Chadwick Boseman or Denzel Washington play him.

At what point is it ridculous and total whitewashing.

What I said was it is wrong to exclude someone for any job solely on the basis of their race (or any other group)

All rolls must be played by the Pillsbury dough boy.

But here we are dealing with acting. Have you ever seen a 60-years-old white-bearded guy playing a five years old girl? Why should we act differently when it comes to ethnicity? In fact, hardly any black actors portray white characters, but there are lots of white actors portraying black characters, which is completely unjust.
