Song Pairings from Different Albums/Eras that Work

The other day I was jammin' to a shuffle playlist when Dolphin from "Gold Experience" came on. I hadn't heard it in a while and it was a lovely time as it makes me feel a bit more at peace.

.

After Dolphin, the shuffle went to Resolution from "Planet Earth" and it sounded soooo goooood. Almost like these two were meant to go together.

.

Today while on a walk I was blasting Black Sweat on my headphones. At the ending the beat sort of dissipates and shuffle provided "They'll Never B (Another Like Me)" from MPLSound which begins with a beat sort of generating itself. The two blended together so well it made me smile. I wanna play with them on my digital turntables later to see if I can make it even more seamless a pairing.

.

Have you ever found yourself impressed at an unexpected shuffle or playlist arrangement? I am specifically interested in pairings of two, maybe three songs.

That's awesome man! I blended Animal kingdom after Dolphin the other day and the ocean effect worked As a great bridge between the two.

It may sound weird, but Head and then Something In The Water.

I usually play da bourgeoisie after the rainbow children (cut of right before the instrumental part). It's fun to hear prince say "seriously" right after the deep voice monologue smile

What wine would that go with...

Everytime I listen to "Money don't matter" I can't help but think about When Doves Cry.

Like when he sings: "Money don't matter tonight." I automatically think that: "This is what it sounds like." Sounds JUST A BIT similar.

Thank you! I've been trying to work in rainbow children material but some of it is so heavy and the deep voice is a shuffle vibe killer. Imprimis I like your ideas a lot too.

Plus Money has that soft ending, the guitar at the top of WDC might work. Or I could continue on with the money theme and do $ or Beverly Park from Lotus.

She spoke to me extended followed by strollin' is also a smooth combination. I'm a sucker for mixed tapes. Like to make my own compilations. Never chronologically. Always jumping from one era to another. For me prince never had a dull period. There are treasures in every decade.

On my self-made compilations, one of my all time favorites is "Baby" into "I Wanna Be Your Lover." That huge orchestra finish into the solo pickup drum always sounds so great.
