What made Prince so sexy?

I was watching some of the official Prince channel youtube clips and there seemed to be a lot of comments from both men and women who were perplexed as to why people (women) found him so hot considering he was (in their words) a ....short, skinny, weird guy who often had female demeanor and dressed weird.

As a guy I think I know the answers but like to hear it from others what he had considering he wasn't a typical macho guy that women tend fall for...

i got into Prince when the "prince" album came out so i was too young then for anything sexy to be on my radar. it took me a while to see it actually, what others were going on about. and i know this

is gonna be heresy but i didn't crush on him. i can of course join in the fun now because i can relate to what others were saying but at the time his sexiness kinda eclipsed me. i was

too busy doing the soul train line in my living room every saturday morning. i will say that my favorite

sexy moment is in PR when he is singing the beautiful ones and he says "looka heara, i may not......."

that whole moment is mad sexy to me.

Its not always immediately apparent to people what is sexy about Prince when they see him from a distance. They don't see that his combination of makeup/paisley/frills and lace is an ironic and playful contradiction to his machismo and swagger. I was surprised how masculine prince was when I got to know his work and stage presense better. Also, his openness about his sexual impulses makes some men (particularly homophobic men) uncomfortable. I think they think that P's music is intended to turn them on or is the equivalent of a talented boy band member's solo efforts. But what they might be missing is that Prince is giving them a guide for how to turn on a woman. A man who has both believably masculine and playfully feminine qualities...that is extremely enticing to many women [including myself] because it makes them feel like a guy like Prince would be more appreciative of their own femininity and aesthetics. He made feminity seem like a treasure or something to sometimes aspire to. Also women have a mothering instinct about men sometimes. So, Prince's sad pretty eyes and smallness made them want to take care of him. This is the reason the very scrawny Frank Sinatra was so popular with the bobbysoxers in the 1940's. But also like Sinatra, Prince had a spark, emotional intensity, and some toughness as well. Well, and both men shared immense talent and believably sensual vocalization (albeit in very different ways.--Ironically, even though Sinatra was a baritone, he did used to model his phrasing off of female jazz and torch singers.) They got women by empathizing with them..and the women often forgave them when they sometimes ventured into sexism (like they (meaning the men) were just falling from a grace a bit and it was reflective of self hatred or too much passion.)

As for physical appearance, his face was stunning (as were his eyes) with or without makeup. His hair was usually on point. He had a wonderful ass and he carried his lack of height well by remaining thin and wearing shoes that gave his body proportion. That being said, it took me years to appreciate his attractiveness (partly because I was not very knowledgable about his music --maybe vaguely knew a dozen of his songs and had never seen interviews or live footage) . In the 80's, I was too young and didn't think dudes with mustaches were cute. In the 90's, Prince's look was a bit too figure skater to me and I sadly assumed he was gay. When I saw the super bowl and saw him up there, I remember thinking that dude is pretty cute if he would only take the doo rag thing off his head...LOL. At that point, I was starting to see how attractive he really was.

--He had swag and really if he had worn his hair short, wore suits, and cut back on the make up he would have never been looked at as effeminate. He knew when to turn that on to become a cross over artist and when as he got older to turn it off.

Prince knew how to tap into inate sexuality. I mean, the guy basically WAS sex. 90% of his songs were about it in one way or another. But more than anything, it was just his genderbending style, incredible talent and skill (which is typically sexy in and of itself), combined with great looks and his mysterious demeanor (except when he started preaching). I mean, how many [truthful] jokes are there about Prince's eyes?

Edit: Oh, and EXTREME confidence. That goes a long, long, long way with the ladies. Combine that with the above and you got yourself an all access pass to ALL the p*ssy. Sorry - Pre '96 Prince would have approved of that statement.

I agree with all of you and I would add he was sooooo good at being sooooo baaaad! That kind of confidence from a man who had an iron clad grip on anything he believed in and the courage to see it through. That kind of confidence is extremely appealing.

Here is what my 76 year old ex-mother-in-law had to say, when I shared a video on facebook (Prince solo at Webster Hall) -- btw, she had no clue who Prince was, only that I was a huge fan and she had never seen a picture of him...

Thank you for sharing. He stole my heart...fantastic singer, guitar player,. Just looking at his face and his dreamy, killer eyes would convince me that he is the true deal. Not, as some artists are; he is the real thing. No wonder you are one of his devoted fans. Gone but never forgotten. I love you, B. Thanks again for the video. This is one that I will save. Mom.

And my 13 year old daughter's response to grandma (my reply to her):

Btw, your granddaughter saw what you said about his "dreamy, killer eyes" and she said, "NO! NO! My grandmother cannot talk about 'dreamy, killer eyes' even if it is Prince."

I think that just like his music was a concoction of many many different styles and ingredients, so he turned to himself and did the same. He put in the right amount
Of male and female and made of himself
a dish of many varied and diverse ingredients. And if men want women like prince
Had they would be wise to follow Prince's recipe.

Add to that his "smooth jazz" voice, and I'm taking the belt off my granny panties.😁

Two things: He was plugged in. In the zone. The Force was with him. A channel for music. Whatever you call it... that swagger, confidence and radiant presence people talk about are all from his ability to tap into "the source" that most of us mere mortals are lucky to experience as a few peak moments in our lives. He lived there. He was one with the source.

That is some powerfully attractive s**t to be in the presence of someone like that.

Second, foreplay is all in the mind. He used language, sound, color, design, wordplay, movement... every element was used to awaken our own source of energy. The root chakra - sexuality - life force. Get up out yo seat and shake that thing. Whatever you're doing don't stop. He could get us out of rational brains and into our sensual bodies and feeling hearts.

He helps us all fall in love not with a boy or girl but with the heavens above - the primal life force. He plugged us in and charged us up. He still does.

What could be sexier than that?

His emotional transparency is sexy to me...and his unflinching devotion to God

A lot of guys dont let you know what they are thinking...a girl likes to know

Prince the Musician was open about his feelings the good and the bad...

Im assuming he was like that in Private too...but of course I dont really know...

but it seems that there was something about him that made women get Hooked on him...

He had some incredible potency...

Im guessing he was just as open in the bedroom as he was on stage...

Prince was VERY macho. But his girl side was also interesting. We all have both, and he was in touch with them both. A total sign of healthy ego.
His confidence...
And we all know he was a fantastic lover...
Just wish we knew more about that.
Plus his charisma and personality face to face, from what I hear.
I believe he was also a joy to be around.

It's so obvious what made Prince so sexy...that big ass...humongous head of his. That mofo had one of the biggest heads in the business. Maybe it had to be that big to hold all those ideas and creativity. On some days, depending on what he wore, he looked like a big ass lollipop. And, as anybody knows, women just can't resist a big ass...humongous lollipop!
