Crimson and Clover

Hi Everyone.

I love Prince's version of this song. He played on Ellen and of course the video is amazing I love it with Misty dancing. This song, although not written by Prince, I found it something he could have written. I find myself listening to it over and over. Its plays in my head and gives me a spring in my step. I love his vocals in this song, and of course his guitar playing etc. Just wanted to share.

I love it too! Especially enjoyed the live performances of it during the Welcome 2 Europe tour-very dreamy and atmospheric.Love the video with Misty as well!

I agree. I forgot to mention this one on the overlooked gems thread. I loved the original back in the day, yet Prince's guitar and presence makes it even more special.

My 2 year old son loves it too! He starts to dance when he finds it on my phone and walks around the house with it. I missed Prince's concernts, discovered him late. I know he's on utube. Its amazing that a man did so much and created so much art and rythm that he's gone. It must be surreal for people who went to his concerts and had been experiencing Prince's music a lot longer.

Aww! That's sweet about your son.Yes,Prince was unbelievable in concert!I only saw him once when he came here during the Musicology tour and it was amazing! His band was so tight too! I wish I could have attended more shows but he didn't tour the States anymore after Musicology, doing residencies instead, in places that were unfortunately too far away. There is a lot to watch and listen to online now for the new fans but nothing compared to seeing him live,You're right.I got into him in 2002,right after the Rainbow Children album came out.I wasn't allowed to listen to his music growing up so I missed out on a lot too.

I just heard the original last week in a movie, first time.
That's one of those songs where a cover version should be forbidden, no way that can be improved.

Really? I'd consider it a can't-go-wrong cover song. Joan Jett's is really good, too!
