Sensitive Topic (Prince's and Mayte's son)

So I read Mayte's Book again and there was one thought that just crossed my mind. Prince ignored the warning signs before the Baby was born, but as soon as the boy was born, something happened. Prince didnt decline any medical treatments to save the life of his son.

Now what I thought was, if Ahmir would've survived, would it have been possible that Prince never became a JW? Because they are totally against such things, but medical treatment would be necessary for a child like Ahmir. And I don't think that Prince would've let his son die and he knew that only medicine could make his son live a bit of a normal life.

What do you think?

Then why do you reply? Just ignore it if you think that it's none of your business. There may be others who have the same questions and just want to discuss it.

People confuse the JW and the Christian Scientist. They have 2 totally different belief systems regarding medical treatment. Wikipedia it.

As Morningsong stated, Jehovah's Witnesses are not opposed to all medical treatment, only procedures involving transfused blood.

I do not think he was ignoring anything. The test they did not get has a risk to the unborn child and if they had the test there would have been nothing to do about the birth defect.
It is possible he just wanted to deal with it when the child arrived not that he did not care at all. Also he could have had faith that was ever was wrong he would have to accept as God's will.

I believe that Initially Prince was in shock and went along with the Doctors Advice

until the time he realised that what lay ahead for Ahmiir was a life of

extreme suffering..

At that point, both he and Mayte decided to Let GO..Let GOD

JWs are against Blood Transfusions NOT Medical procedures

Didn't Mayte need a blood transfusion at one point? He also didn't decline that, if I'm not wrong.

Nope since I'm not nor have I ever been a member of either organization. But I have Wiki'd both of them and know some fundamental things about each. Since you are online I think you have the same access I did. I only commented because you are making grandiose statements about JWs that have been disputed even here on the org dozens of times, simple errors, easy to find if one is truly interested in knowing. Since I do not know you and have no idea what your intentions are I'm leaving the foot work up to you, if you care you'll make a simple search, if you don't then I won't be wasting my time trying to explain the basics.

I just asked you, to make sure if I got something wrong. It wasn't my intention to spread bullshit.

Most devout people of any religious faith have some level of belief that God can heal, yet have very different views in how to approach medical treatment. Such information is right at your finger tips. We are a blessed generation, ignorance is a choice nowadays.

Again, it wasn't my intention to be ignorant, it just turned out that I wasn't well informed on that topic. I didn't know that, you cleared things up.

Might as well get used to the negativity here. It's rampant at the org., sadly. Usually only takes two to three posts in a new thread before it hits. Prince would be so proud...... Yes, information is at our fingertips but can you believe everything you read on the net? There are members here who expect everyone to know everything about everything. Sad......

Oh, I know your intentions were well meant. I just wanted to give you a heads up on how things are around here anymore. Kind of funny when someone writes up a big nasty response to someone's question(s) but doesn't want to take the time to give a simple answer and yet will waste five minutes of their time chastising the asker of the question. It would be simpler to just not respond, right? biggrin

If Ahmir had lived, would he have been a JW or not? Maybe his son would've needed a blood transfusion. Prince didn't decline the blood transfusion for Mayte either, so I doubt that if the Child would've survived that Prince would've become a JW.
