Did Prince ever considered marriage seriously in his 20s?

I don't want to start arguments or heartbreaks. I'm talking in very neutral ways here.

Even though Prince was engaged once in his 20s to Susannah Melvoin, it never got to the marriage bit. Prince basically spent his 20s and early 30s hanging out with a different girl each year. It was only till his mid 30s when he decided to settle down and marry Mayte Garcia.

Would you say Prince never considered marriage seriously in his 20s? He didn't seem ready to settle down and made "mistakes" such as making and breaking engagements. Nothing wrong with that - a lot of 20somethings don't feel ready to marry. I'm one of them.

i'll start with who knows!!! then get to the conversation bit i think you want to have.

i think perhaps his friends were finding permanent attachments and like we all do when our friends

start to settle "oh do i need to do that too?" and perhaps he was trying in on so to speak. feeling

out what it would be like to be linked to 1 (or 2 or 3 smile ) people. i think he proposed to those whom he could most imagine a life when he was ready. No offensense to anyother women who he asked or

married You all were special, but i think that his relationship with Shelia E and the fact that it apparently survived a proprosal and breakup and then went on from there to collaboration was

as close to a true marriage as I THINK he experienced. it seem to contain all the elements.

I AM NOT SAYING THAT THE OTHER WOMEN WERE NOT IMPORTANT SIMPLY THAT THIS ONE SEEM

TO HAVE THE ELEMENT OF RECONCILIATION. so for whatever reason their relationship was able to

go full cirlcle. i think having the full scale artistic family and motivation to move on without him helped him feel that she wasn't there because of who he was. i think that this kind of love that

moves beyond the butterfly stage is what long marriages are made of. i think they loved each other

past the butterfly your a enigma stage. MY FEELINGS TO POSTERS QUESTION. best!!

He asked Sheila E. to marry him at one point, I believe around the Sign 'O' The Times era, which would make him in his late 20's then.

I think Prince being caught up in heavy doses of 'euphoria' via the music the community and needing to get out messages of love, I do believe he considered it strongly with Susannah & then Sheila E.
