Parade Vinyl Skipping

I recently bought the Parade vinyl, but it skipped on UTCM so I exchanged it. I thought it'd be okay, but I've played it and it skips in the exact same place on UTCM. Is this a known issue or is this a problem with my record player?

You might need a bit of adjusting. Try taping a penny to the top of the stylis for a bit more weight. It seems it is not the actual vinyl but the wreka player.

Google this: why does a needle skip on stereos

2 questions.
Did you order your copy from Amazon?
And does it skip on "Kiss"?

My 1986 version plays just fine, where the newer version does not. Might be cost cutting on the newer ones. Putting weights on your stylus is not recommended by audiophiles, it will just ruin the grooves in your records that don't skip. Get a better deck or an original printing of the faulty vinyl.

Yeah, we'll, we'll try to imagine what silence looks like.

Okay. Thanks for all the help guys. I might try to find an original 1986 version.

Interesting this, that many of these repressings have these problems. When my copy of AOA did the same thing, y'all attacked me for having a less than audiophile quality machine rather than the cheap and shitty pressing sold at an extortionate price.

.

I don't have a Parade repressing, but my original copy plays fine, without a 10 cent coin (We don't have pennies in NZ and haven't since 1967) strapped to the tone arm. Yet my copies of Dirty Mind, Sign o the Times, both new repressings are seeing better days and I am at want to play them as they just look flimsy.

.

Warners were too quick to rush these out for the maximum CA$H grab after his death. Well they must have used the cheapest bought in vinyl and quickest printers (Chinese) to make sure the albums would sell like hot cakes at $30 or more each, when in reality they cost $1 or $2 too make. Prince dies and Warners money company Caching ching! $$$$$$$$$$

Where I come from, we don't give a damn, we do whatever we please!
