Organ Soundcheck - Tora Tora preaching to the NPG: It's the Devil's Music!

Just came across this gem and laughed my ass off in the first part (turn it up and wait for it).
And baffled at the second part, where Prince layers down Hammond church softness under Bob George (remember me?) transforming into Tora Tora, after some tweaking by Mr. Hayes.
The "Devil's Music" in question is of course a reference to The Blues, The Gospel wars (Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, James Brown), the musical heritage.

I wonder if he could tweak his vox effect on a foot pedal while playing the organ, but maybe it's an engineer playing with it.

It has all the charm of a soundcheck: all that happens in the background is great, and I dare you not to crack or burst a laugh @ 1'18 (wait for it).
The fantastic good mood of an NPG rehearsal, Ladies and Gents.

Those who say in interviews the NPG were just session musicians, should put their jealousy aside.
Every musician is important to Skipper. Everyone was a source of inspiration. This is not the Kid anymore. Anyway...

As Sonny used to bark: Check, check.

Given the NPG set-up at the time, wouldn't it make more sense that it's Morris playing organ? Admittedly I've only listened to this rehearsal once, more than a year ago, so maybe there's some clue that it is actually Prince.

It is indeed, and I'm sure he also says a line from The Godfather - 'look what they did to my son'
.
Shame he didn't play Hallucination Rain at all as it sounds unbelievable on this sound check
