Dilan	love and sex 86 is one of the greatest prince songs god i love this what a masterpiece better than that 84 trash this is phoneomenal. it sort of reminds me of george michael in the wham days aswell. hope we hear prince vox soon. [Edited 7/23/17 6:16am] I'm feeling a bit fammy™

Romeoblu	I really like it too but wouldn't dismiss the 84 version which I think is also a stellar song they only thing they share is the title, two completely different songs. If this had have been included on the Sheila E album it would have been the standout song. [Edited 7/23/17 6:26am]

I like the '84 one too. They're really different songs, like the two "Girl"s.

This would have made such a great addition to Sheila's 3rd LP. Really digging it, it's a highlight of Vol 4.

Yeah, the OP here is comparing apples to oranges, the title being that they're both fruit, but the fruit (songs) themselves are totally different.

It's not a fair comparison. The "Girl" example of perfect. There are three "17" tracks, two "7" tracks - no one's comparing those. It's nonsense to consider either "Love and Sex" as relevant to the other.

Damn I gotta admit it, I love (n sex boo ) this song now. Very catchy n cute. I think cuz I built it up in my mind hearing about it here, then when I did hear it I was like meh, but not greatest, but very decent music . Riding on a ferris wheel upside down whistle .
