I prefer this one to the released. Especially when the chorus hits, Prince gives it a little more .. passion. I love me some Family / St Paul / fDeluxe, but the Family version vocal always seemed a little flat to me. Which I can dig, but I like this P version even better.

Never been the biggest fan of this, but I like Prince's version a lot more than the released version.

Is this different than the demo/rehersal version that has been out for some time now?

No. This is essentially what you hear on the album, minus some of the final touches, and the obvious "scratch vocals" in the mix.

Always loved this song; it's so nice to hear Prince on lead vocals for the first time...

Did anybody else strip the vocals from The Family 12" and sync the drums to lay this Prince version on top. so you get the Clare Fischer strings on it (plus the long intro)? It certainly isn't perfect, but it is pretty great.

It's always great to hear Prince's own version of songs he let others sing. Now we only need River Run Dry and Nothing Compares 2 U with Prince vocals to have the entire The Family album performed by Prince himself.

I've always liked The Screams Of Passion and am grateful for finally having Prince's version of it - and in stereo too.

Oh i love this. The mere fact that the horrible vocals on The Family version are gone makes this a must.

I do love Clare Fischer and all he's done for the Prince, but the track is fine without his amazing work.
I wonder how kosher it would be to add the strings to a Prince sung version? Either way, this is far more listenable with Prince on vocals.
