7 Reasons~Positive Post

There are many facebook groups around, honouring Prince, every now and then you come across

posts that are nothing But Posative.

I am constantly intrigued by the fact that some people are almost trained to LOOK for the Posative

and others only the negative....

This post is one of the former, made me feel all warm and fuzzy...

What do you all see when you look at this picture ?

Xh4qrSg.jpg

7 Reasons WHY this is MY favorite Photo of PRINCE...

(apparently taken after his second show in Atlanta, his last...Im not 100% sure...but if so, add one more reason)

1)The piano was Purple apparently but in this Photo it appears to be PInk.Pink is the colour of the Heart Chakra symbolising LOVE: Prince was all about LOVE in the end

2)The collage of images behind him commissioned by Redfoxbandit;Simultaneously depicting
a)his never ending support of other creatives
b)his fluidity as a being who wont be defined or confined to a single mind constraint,
c) his evolution from past to present

3) His Afro.., he had come full circle The circle symbolises, no beginning and no end and is complete in and of itself.
Yes prince you ARE !

4) His style of dressing~When he emerged on the scene in his underwear, he said "Take me as I am" I DARE YOU...later his clothing was structured tailored and sexy, designed to tantalise entice and excite, in the end there was a comfort and ease in his styling..It was flowing and comfortable and almost monk like in its appeal ,devoid of any structural constraints.
It says "I am free "This is me NOW"

5) His face, Always was beautiful, but now we have a man who has matured gently with dignity and grace~

6) The image on his shirt.Prince, eyes closed, resting, but his third EYE, the eye of the Mystics, conduit of cosmic wisdom is Wide OPEN. He knew something we WANT to know.....

7) His EYES~There is no longer any hint of that cheeky challenging sometimes provocative look he gave us for so many years in so many different ways.Instead his eyes look serene, peaceful, resigned and slightly distant like
"Im here but maybe Im thinking of someplace else"

Truly beautiful. I see everything mentioned here, ....but there are more to the eyes.

The eyes look tired, and sad, no longer sparkeling. There is a sadness in his face. The sleeves on his shirt are baggy to hide the thinness of his arms. His first finger in his right hand is crooked, the knuckle looks swollen, probably from so many years playing. He is stripped bare, where is his symbol necklace, his rings? Where is his glitter? He is on stage all alone, no band, no back up singers, just him.

Sorry I'm such a debbie downer, I think sometimes the trials in my life has caused me to be this way.

I believe as the poster suggests this was taken at the event AFTER the Atlanta incident where he told everyone 'wait a few days before you waste any prayers', correct me if i'm wrong.

The poster makes good points and it's very interesting about the eyes being closed but the third eye open, it was like he was signalling to us somehow.

I also agree as others said that the eyes took tired and resigned somehow, it could be that after the near death experience on the plane he felt he was no longer for this world and wanted to go?

That photo has been heavily touched-up. The coloring is all wrong, and not his best pic, that is for sure.

.

Yeah, but the picture appears to be heavily retouched, and his skin looks "yellow" and the shadows makes his cheeks look more sunken in.

.

Lighting and special effects can really change a person's appearance. You will look much different in a black and white photo, versus one with color and light/dark shadows.

.

I have plenty of bad pictures of myself, LOL lol

Yes I believe this photo was taken the night Vanity passed. After the PAAM Show. He was grieving, as his protégés meant so very much to him.

This is the photo that spurned the beautiful article that Justine Walpole wrote about her experience not only that night, but in what Prince did for her.

"The last shoot Walpole had with Prince was in a Melbourne hotel room during his February Australian tour. The shoot gave one of her favourite Prince shots, a haunting, straight-to-camera picture capturing the musician’s epic and intense other-worldly magic."

"Walpole had spent three years staring into his face through a lens. She knew that face like the back of her hand and there was something across his face that night that she hadn’t seen before, something tender and vulnerable, something big and universal that crossed from mere polite gratitude into the realms of acceptance, and fate, and last chances.

“It was the way he said thanks to me that night,” she said.

“The way he looked. I felt at the time it was an unusual thing for him to do. It feels so poignant now when I look back. I don’t know, it probably sounds weird."

And I would love to see the 2nd one. She said there were only two frames taken that night.
I also wonder what happened during the moments he stepped out of the room, that made him come back and thank her so heartfeltedly. Probably the grace and compassion he felt towards Vanity that night.
I hope and wish he had someone to give him a true real hug that night.

This is a photo art portrait, the entire piece has been washed in sepia tones, she darkened the shadows and the contrast. She is attempting to make the visual match the experience she had with him that night, and I think she nailed it. The tone and composition drip into my heart and make me feel better about whatever was going on in his life, something about his expression is penetrating in the purest way...in all the hundreds of thousands of photos I have seen of him, this is my favorite, it is gorgeous, not hauntingly gorgeous, just over the top deeply beautiful.....what was he

I think he loved her work and gave her artistic license. Retouching to me is to hide flaws etc, artfully finishing a portrait is different and enhances the essence of the piece...

Just one correction to the original post: the heart chakra color is actually green.

Sorry, it just bothered me and I like to make sure people get correct information. I have never heard or read of "pink" symbolizing the heart (Anahata) chakra. I practice Kriya yoga (royal yoga) a form of pranayama.

But ultimately, I agree that we should find the positive. However, keep in mind that of dualities. If positive exists, so must negative. I'd rather see the truth.

Possibly.
I know he loves us very much. That's for starters.
There could be many things he's trying to say.

Thats true...but the heart Chakra has a higher and a lower electromagnetic vibration..

This is not widely known, but

Typically it will radiate Pink when feeling spiritual LOVE ..Joy

Green for earthly love...Peace and tranquility

Dont wish to argue..but I also practice Yoga and I was taught this by my teacher

and

I have seen it in my own meditation...

I totally agree about Duality ..embracing both rather than rejecting one or the other allowsTruth to be revealed.

Without the dark there can be no light

Prince embraced both his sides..and was open and honest about them...

and he was always gunning for the TRUTH..

This is the photo that spurned the beautiful article that Justine Walpole wrote about her experience not only that night, but in what Prince did for her. "The last shoot Walpole had with Prince was in a Melbourne hotel room during his February Australian tour. The shoot gave one of her favourite Prince shots, a haunting, straight-to-camera picture capturing the musician’s epic and intense other-worldly magic." "Walpole had spent three years staring into his face through a lens. I don’t know, it probably sounds weird." https://www.google.com/am...57cb9b20bf Looking back at this all really brings it home to me, what this is all about. heart
This is a photo art portrait, the entire piece has been washed in sepia tones, she darkened the shadows and the contrast. She is attempting to make the visual match the experience she had with him that night, and I think she nailed it. The tone and composition drip into my heart and make me feel better about whatever was going on in his life, something about his expression is penetrating in the purest way...in all the hundreds of thousands of photos I have seen of him, this is my favorite, it is gorgeous, not hauntingly gorgeous, just over the top deeply beautiful..........what was he

.

Beautifully stated. Thanks for the explanation. I was going to say "sepia" too! I think it's a beautiful portrait also.
