I'm loving this song - I hadn't paid much attention to the instrumental or The Family out takes, but this is a whole new story!

Good - but less good than the other Family-songs (Miss Understood besides)

It's the rap from Holly Rock, isn't it?

Yeah it is, cool to hear Prince do it actually, guess we've heard him do it a bit in some leaked rehearsals but it's nice to get a studio track with it on it.

Incidentally it's interesting that this track isn't part of the new Eye Records releases, had assumed it was just a leak from that to generate excitement but it's nowhere on the tracklist.

I think some people are really pissed off at Eye records. Their anger is out gain!
Personally I have very mixed feelings. I don't love the idea of them making money by selling bootlegs (particularly if, as someone mentioned, some of the songs are actual releases and can be heard legally on Tidal!). But in the other hand... I'll take new Prince music from anywhere I can!

Oh yeah, just saw the thing about the comment in the track metadata in the other thread, let's hope both sides escalate this spat by releasing everything they have to the masses lol

It's a bit too lyrically dirty to be a Family song, IMO. Instrumentally though; perfect. I wonder if St Paul ever recorded a vocal version?

My favorite rap ever that sheila performed now sung by Prince...lovin it.

I can understand why St. Paul didn't want to sing that rap.

I'm pretty sure the Ingrid Chavez tracks are the original synth-and-vocal recordings that weren't released. I tried to get discussion going about them about a year ago when someone had them on a Youtube channel (which seems to be gone now), but no one ever responded to the thread, and it sank like a stone. Certainly they're willing to put released stuff out again, but I don't think that's what they're doing with those tracks.

As to Feline--I also never paid much attention to it in earlier times. Now that I can hear a real vocal, it's kinda good.

I am wondering why he dropped the snare out like that. The instrumental has a strong linn snare on it, maybe he was going to change it if it went through or something.

I'm still curious as to the story behind the metadata.

It would be a cool B side

Like the Aside/Album release are the 'wholesome' side and some bsides as the other side

a cool Bside for Desire or even Screams of Passion

He should have had Jerome do the rap and St Paul the singing. Or even St Paul & Prince

This is really funky! Did Paul sing the same lyrics for this song on the Family album or did it remain a instrumental?

That's what Bart was saying. Why?

If this is fake it's not a bad soundalike.
