Wow! Hit N Run 2 is one of my favorite albums of the 2000's era right after Rainbow Children and Lotus Flow3r. Thank you I really appreciate it! This album in my opinion didnt get the credit it deserves. Even got it on vinyl. Good to hear the recording process of this body of work!

Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

Love how he had the vocals already in his head, ready for uploading. Likewise, his instrument playing. Noone else has that music memory, or records that way.

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

Finally an interesting and informative interview from a former Prince associate. It seems all of the others are almost interchangable. Thanks for posting.

Very cool story. cool https://www.vibe.com/feat...dio-album/

Lots of posative Vibes and quotes..

Working with him was like being enrolled in a college university.

He was the professor and we were the students. — John Blackwell

I especially love reading about his generosity...some once commented a few days ago on some thread that Prince Underpayed people ...In his start up phase I think he payed what he could afford...

and in the Later years he could afford MORE thus:

“Prince wants to know if you can come tomorrow.” [Laughs] So I gave her all of my information and literally 10 minutes later I get an email from Delta. In my mind I was just going to get an exit row aisle seat, but then when I looked at my reservation it said First Class. That’s when it hit me…Okay, this is that other world_Andrew Gouche

Thanks for this Rogifan

These blogs are trying to put all the articles in one place. I do not think the intent is too rip anyone off. I find it laughable that the bootleg maven is worried about copyright issues.

Yes this site is full of posts about such and such leaks but OMG linking to a blog that republished another article (with the link) is the most awful thing ever. rolleyes

Yes, that's exactly the same thing. People TALKING ABOUT something THAT YOU CANNOT LINK TO is the same thing as some dumbass blog copy-pasting copyrighted content to get clicks from you lot.

Shame they never filmed the outside shots with Vanity, a night shoot too - it could've looked great with lots of dry ice and lighting,

So people are too stupid to go and look for the boot after it has been promoted on this site?

It is the same thing and I think Vibe and other publications will survive without a few clicks. These blogs are going to have this info avalible when businesses like Vibe go out of business and the article cannot be read anymore.

You never gave a shit about promoting bootleggs and taking income from Prince with what was surely stolen material but have a problem with large corporations losing internet clicks.

Cool find! Didn't know Justin worked on HNR Pt. 2 as I hadn't seen any liner notes. Love his work with the lovely and talented Nikka Costa, glad to see he will now forever be a part of the purple fam.

Maybe that is what you think but when I read reviews of the project none mentioned it and he was nominated for a Grammy for engineering for Hit and Run. You also realize we have to go on WB word so we do not really know how involved he was.

Thanks for posting.

It gives you a glimpse into P's world the last few years of his life.

P certainly wasnt walking around all fucked up during HitnRun Phase Two.

It made me teary eyed to read John's quotes:

John Blackwell: I cried all day when I heard the news. I felt horrible that I wasn’t able to patch whatever things that we had between us. Just to say I love you, I forgive you, do you forgive me? Me and Prince were like, and don’t take this the wrong way, girlfriend and boyfriend [laughs]. You have your moments when you have falling outs and then your make-ups. That’s how it was with that guy. Prince was very demanding and sometimes things would get crazy. And I’m like, “Man, I’m going home.” Then I get home and see my wife and my kids and I’m telling her, “Oh, I’m so happy to see you! I had to get away from Prince.” And then my wife starts acting crazy and I call Prince and say, “Hey, man…you got any studio work?” Can I get up there? [Laughs] Prince expected everybody to be as good as him. He always wanted me to see music as belonging to everybody.

Yes, it does give you a lot of insight and a few of us have been saying he did not start to look bad and according to chefs a change in demeanor until sometime in mid-January and was flawless doing those concerts. Ray Charles could have seen something else was going on with his health.

Amazing. You use the word "none", when I point out that you're wrong, your reply is "several did not"? Since when it that the same as "none"?

.

I also love how you lot claim the Grammy Awards both mean nothing and mean everything.

- ----

Go back and read genius.

My response to serveral did not is too the idea that many publications were critica of the sound.

I am saving serveral were did not say anything about poor sound.

"Several did not mention it.

---

and he was nominated for a Grammy for engineering for Hit and Run.

.You say so.

I said "-- The Grammy means his peers in the industry thought the engineering was good."

So what in the hell are you babbling on about? His peers liked his work enough to nominate him which you think means nothing and that is fine but his peers do not see it that way.

----

As much time as you spend on this board you need to realize that some things are facts and your opinions do not change facts. The people in the article who worked with in his last years had much praise for his work. They worked with him this is what they think and nothing you have to say will change anything.

It is no different then saying he had no savings which is a total lie. You have taken no time to look at his inventory sheet to know what assests he had and think you saying it makes it so. It does not.
