Correspondence from Atty Joseph Cassioppi, dated July 5, 2017: eek

.

In particular, Mr. McMillan's continued interactions with UMG have not only failed to persuade UMG that his representations during the negotiation of the UMG Agreement were accurate, but have affirmatively caused further damage to the Estate's relationship with UMG, not to mention violated the Court's Protective Order.

.

Unfortunately, Mr. McMillan crossed the line in his attempts to preserve the UMG Agreement and his own commission. Rather than assist the Estate, he has exasperated UMG and destabilized an already volatile situation. On June 23, 2017, Mr. McMillan wrote to UMG executives directly, without the knowledge or consent of UMG's counsel. In his emailv Mr. McMillan discussed the specific terms of, and quoted language from, the 2014 WBR Agreement, both in violation of the Court's Protective Order, which authorized disclosure of the 2014 WBR Agreement only to UMG's counsel on an attorneys-eyes-only basis. Mr. McMillan also disclosed to non-attorneys at UMG details of confidential business negotiations between WBR and the Estate. Mr. McMillan's violation of the Protective Order is particularly concerning because in one of his growing number of public statements regarding the Estate, on the same day the parties held a confidential hearing regarding rescission, Mr. McMillan stated his intention not to comply with his confidentiality obligations to the Estate.

Quote from LLM’s letter to UMG, "Despite the conference call yesterday, now that UMG's counsel has reviewed the Agreement, we remain hopeful UMG will allow the parties to press along and enjoy the benefits of the bargain negotiated -- namely distribute Prince's music to the world now -- while allowing the Estate the opportunity to clear up any and all rights in dispute and/or issues with WBR.”
.
Bargain negotiated? What does that mean? He shouldn’t be referring to his own dealings on behalf of the estate as a bargain for someone other than the Estate, who was his client!

Lonny is taking an ass whupping from Comerca.

He discussed in writing with the UMG Executives specifics of the 2014 Warner Bros agreement, and quoted language from the agreement when the agreement is under a protective order and for attorney "eyes" only.

He violated Judge Eide's Order.

How much does this affect his future work in the industry, I wonder? I would imagine if Coamerica are saying what they are saying and UMG is saying what it's saying, it would make other corps gun-shy of him a bit.

Comerica also quoted his tweet posted the same day as the confidential hearing before Judge Eide.

He isn't but the UMG deal was struck when he was working with Bremer, so they are being held accountable for this UMG mess.

He's no longer involved in the same way now that Comerica is handling the estate but the elder siblings: Sharon, Norrine, and John (whom Sharon is POA for), still use him as their "advisor". Fools shake

I guess they feel they can trust Londell because he knew Prince for so many years and helped him go against WB. After WB, I don't think Prince trusted too many people, especially Lawyers. eek

The missing info is why did Prince stop working with LM? I'd have expected that since he did help with WB that there would have been something there to make P stick with LM. It's not like he didn't have any long-time associations with people/organizations. Unless someone knows what happened and talks, that leaves LM to spin it any way he wants to.

I'm not really sure why Prince cut ties with Londell. I think after his battle with WB, he was tired of trusting people, tired of shady business deals, and tired of contracts, and was basically making decisions on his own. I guess you get to a point in your life/career when you've been screwed-over so many times, you just cut ties with people. He cut his losses and moved on.

Sometimes, when people are in the wrong, they fight back hard to minimize what is coming to them. It is awfully hard for him to see millions slip through his fingertips. And the possibility of legal action against him ... I am sure LM is at the max DEFCON right now, fighting on all fronts. He is going to lose - the point now is just how much.

Don't you think it is carreer suicide to go against a protective order? He must really be pressed about that commision to risk being censenored by the court.

How does one define “the estate”? If Londell is representing any of the declared heirs does that mean he’s representing “the estate”? confused
