The Revolution were cool. That lady was annoying. The first thing she asks was about his death after acting like an obnoxious fan. No wonder they were thrown off. Poor Wendy

I didn't mind the reporter because she really, really seemed like a fan. I think the "where were you when you found out" question was just awkward and all she could think of due to her nerves... to the bands dismay.

She sounded like a fairweather fan to me though. I don't know. It was awkward and kind of insensitve to not prepare the Revolution members to answer such a sad question. The shift in tone was kind of nuts. In less than a second, she went from overzealous ass kissing (okay fanhood sorry) to mentioning Prince's death and asking where were you when you found out."..UGH> And it was her first question. A fan would know to maybe not make that the first question.

I loved the way Bobby and Lisa joked about Prince's funk face. Bobby had it down...LOL> And Wendy talking about her time alone with P doing the Kiss video. Prince almost seemed like a window that opened and shut. It is nice to know she paid attention when it opened. I love that Dr. Fink consistently reminds people of Prince's sense of humor.

Agree the interviewer seemed nervously obnoxious. Who cares if "she" is out of time so everybody answer fast. Not a game show. Loved the bands comments though. Funkface, yeah! cool

Brand new boogie without the hero.

That interveiwer...What an awkward way to handle that whole thing, but...Why would BobbyZ call Wendy and simply say, "He's gone..." and Wendy immediately know which "he" that BobbyZ was referring to?...

Hmmmmm...

I think a few folks know more than they've let on for a year...

confused

Maybe because of the plane incident and him being sick just prior? Of course it's possible they know more than they're letting on.

Maybe because they suspected he was unhealthy by his appearance but also keep in mind how Kim reacted when someone said there was a death at Paisley, she just assumed it was someone else. Maybe, Wendy asked Bobby to double check to make sure it wasn't Prince (believing that it probably wasn't him) and then When Bobby Texted back "he's gone", it was enough to know that it was indeed Prince who had died.

Sure...that's certainly possible...

But, that's not what Wendy said in that video...She said BobbyZ called and said "He's gone" and she told her business associates that their meeting had to be over "cuz Prince is..."

Just sayin

She left out part of the story..obviously. But I don't know if its because they knew anything more.

Did she?

She said her phone was pinging and when she picked up it was BobbyZ and he said "He's gone".

She could just as easily said that BobbyZ said "P's..."

Funny thing when you have a prepared response for something you know you'll be asked...you'll say it without thinking...

But when you're caught off guard and are flustered, the truth often slips out unexpectedly cuz it's easier for the brain to think of the truth than make up a lie/evasive answer on the spot...

Why does it seem as though some "fans" won't happy until they find out that Prince suffered from some kind of terminal illness? Cause him suffering from drug dependency/addiction isn't enough for them, so let's give him some disease too. Hell, let's give him all the diseases in the world cause we won't be satisfied until we know he suffered the most! confused

She has told this story before about the text. Its not the first time.

This is what Wendy said during the Billboard interview...

Wendy: Wonderful things and horrific things usually happen at the same time with me -- I call it high-contrast living -- and Prince’s death was not an exception. I was on the phone with NBC producers, being hired to be the musical director for Maya Rudolph and Martin Short’s show, and I’m in my backyard like "This is going to be great!" And then Bobby’s text came and it just said "He's gone.” The producers were in the middle of saying something and I just said "Stop, I have to go." "What’s the matter?" "Prince is dead.” I just ... I can’t tell you the physical pain I felt hearing it -- and then trying to keep my shit together because I knew the first thing I wanted to do was get to the band. "Where’s Bobby, where’s Matt, where’s Lisa, where’s Mark? Where are they?" I tried calling every one of them, that was the first thing I did.

And again...even in that telling, the only thing different is her saying it was a text instead of a call...

But he still says the same words...and she immediately says the same thing...

Also interesting is that during the first few interveiws Tyka did after 4/21, she said exactly the same thing when asked how she found out...She was at the sink doing dishes when a PP staffer called and said "He's gone"...and she said she knew...

Interesting that the 2 words weren't using his name yet it was automatically assumed that the caller was talking about P...

Odd... confused
