Can you go into more detail what you are referring to in Mayte's book and GCS??? confused

Mayte paints a vivid picture of the time when the Grahams first really got their claws into Prince. She's fairly nice about it, but it does bring back memories of the concerns / comments from fellow Prince fans back in the late nineties, most of which seem validated now.

When the happy-clappy JW stuff was in full swing, and Larry was guiding his "baby brother" spiritually at Bible discussion groups etc, it seemed to be a time when Prince was profoundly depressed and vulnerable. To read of Prince denying medical treatment for his wife and son because of his faith... it's hard to know what to think about that. Personally I cringe to see Prince and Larry onstage together, despite being a fan of GCS.

at that time I remember going to a Prince concert and being so disappointed because it turned into the Larry show. I have nothing against LG but I went to see Prince confused and left feeling bummed.

- This time I agree. I love Sly, but I got tired of all those Sly-medleys after some time. And it must have been pretty bad for Rhonda too, because she was always having to let Larry play the bass. She was only able to be Prince´s full bass player after 2002.

I know many fans dislike Larry´s influence on Prince, and I dont believe in JW doctrine, but, coincidence or not, Prince seemed to feel better after he met Larry. In the 90s, he was very angry and sad.

Co-sign. Some have also said he was embracing Christianity more in the last few years of his life, not exclusively JW doctrine. It makes me happy to know how much happier and at peace Prince was in the last 15+ years his life (which is not long after he met Larry). He grew spiritually (and said in public that he was focusing on that) and found more peace and happiness. That is something that gives me peace and makes me happy in spite of all of the other chaotic and sad things out there.

I don't many people would associate stuff like the lotus flower or the third eye with christianity.

I don't think I can watch this video as he makes me very uncomfortable.

.

There has been too much negativity around him over the years and too much of a negative influence over Prince.

liljojo

I know I'm about to say something that's going to piss some orgers off but truth is truth.

I've read a lot of love/hate comments against each other, celebs, Prince friends/Family members. While I can understand some comments, I can't get with the dark beyond evil comments as if people have no feelings just like you. Some of you fuss and cuss people out on here about letting you mourn in your own way but turn around and do the very same thing at people that was in Prince life or celebs just trying to mourn and share their stories of him, you attack them like they don't have the right to mourn in their own way. Lets be fair and more thoughtful, I would say do unto others as you would want them to do onto you but some of you have yet to understand how special you are and how to love yourself tenderly because of the negativity going around this planet.

Saw the video, and much respect to Larry and also the following The Revolution, The Time, The Family, both wives, NPG, Every band member that played with him, all his personal friends, and family members, and to all his loving fans family. Instead of us attacking each other lets try to have fun and if we disagree, disagree respectfully so all this "The mods snipped my post, they hate me" can slow down. I just hate seeing you all on edge due to you feel you have to protect your opinion. Explain why you feel that way and if someone disagree answer them if they have a good question. But if they say something mean and sarcastic online, it's not worth entertaining because we deal with enough stress trying to live this thing called life and trying to figure out what's next when our soul leave this body. It's just not worth it, and with the why people committing suicide on social media due to online bullying we have to be careful and thoughtful.

Wish Larry would've played Sexy M.F. just for shock value.
