Yeah disc 3 sounds great apart from the audio glitch at the start of Erotic City which should have been noticed by someone at WB

I just read on the WB Prince website: "Purple Rain Deluxe boasts the official 2015 Paisley Park Remaster of the original tapes overseen by Prince himself." Does anyone know which engineer did the remastering job? Joshua Welton? Or someone more established?

Someone with no skill or care for what they are doing.

Honestly I don't think anyone remasatered it, I think they simply turned the gain higher and called it a day.

So you're saying Prince didn't care.

I think it's fair to say if Prince really cared about this remaster, he would have brought in someone with a reputation for excellent remastering. Purple Rain is one of the most important releases in popular music. What is Josh Welton's track record in mastering?

(And I'm not a hater - thought his influence on AOA was a significant part of what made it so great, although was not impressed with much on HnR1)
