I'm saying.... lol

Thread is going just as predicted in the exact same direction as dozens of others before it. At this point, why they don't just open one "death eater" sticky is a mysery to me. disbelief

The tragedy is if Prince, indeed, stopped taking his HIV meds, according to reports, due to his misguided "religious beliefs" that God would heal him led to his early demise. Had he come forward about it, it would bring to light the importance of getting tested and taking HIV meds, given that HIV infection in the African American community is a bigger problem, statistically, compared to other racial groups in the U.S.

Seriously, can we just have one sticky for "Prince conspiracy threads" and leave this stuff contained in one place? confused

It's amazing to me that just because Prince was with a lot of women thoughout his life that people want to jump on the bandwagon and say he had AIDS.

.

This is what TMZ and the National Inquirer were pushing. Fake news!!

If they would just disclose the full autopsy report we can put all these rumors to rest, once and for all!!!!

Here's the simple answer--any way but the way it did. And anyone who claims that this was a death of a man in control is not facing the facts. He was heading into a plan to break his addiction to a substance he was using illegal scripts to get hold of. There's no control in that. He had almost died days earlier. He was in his elevator, for crying out loud--discovered by people trying to help him kick his addiction. There's no plan here, there's no control freak--there's a man out of control, who didn't make it quite long enough to get the help he was already planning to get, because he took a drug that was mislabeled (so he didn't even have control of that). It was stupid, and a very talented, complex, but (I believe) basically good man who gave those of us here and many others so much through his hard work, incredible talent, and (through most of his life) self control and focus left this world in a way that has absolutely no redeeming aspects. There is nothing good in or about his death. He's dead. He shouldn't be. End of story.

I thought it would end with him growing old to possibly late 80's or 90's, being cared for by others the way other celebs that get old do, being a recluse in Minnesota until the end.

As beloved as Prince was as an artist during his lifetime, I doubt National Enquirer would choose to smear Prince's name by spreading "fake news". Whether or not Prince did contract HIV years ago and died from AIDS-related illness due to him stopping taking his meds (Prince was battling the flu for weeks-- it could have been bronchial pneumonia-- Freddie Mercury was using painkillers, too, towards the end of his life to combat the debilitating effects of the disease as his condition progressively got worse), the fact that we're talking about it hopefully would not only continue to raise awareness of the seriousness of the disease but also eradicate the stigma associated with it.

I figured he'd grow old, the being around a bunch of people i never would have thought but it seems he did get around a lot more than publicized. It goes to show, none of us know how much time we have. I was just reading about some guy on the old Gladiator shows from the 90's, he died from some unpublicized cause after a hip surgery, what if prince had hip surgery and died from it? sometimes I think when it's your time it's your time. Almost like it's written in the stars. at any rate, what i told my best friend still stands "I never saw him going out like that".

It seems like a slow death to this forum. Of course, I miss Prince, but I also miss the things which kept this site alive--real discussions of music, etc. I fear this site is going the way of most sites when a music icon passes away. sad But, who knows, I may leave it before then. But, I will never stop listening to Prince...

If you'd have told me Prince would have died in a manner that almost perfectly mirrored the lyrics and metaphor for life/death to "let's go crazy"....I'd have told you that it sounded poetic and kinda beautiful.

- It's all perspective: I think the fact that he died in April, with his original "For You" hairstyle, obsessed with moon cycles/symbols, while playing his most career summative, introspective, open, intimate concerts is also quite amazing.

- Am I sad he's gone? Yes. - Is he really "gone." Eye say no. He lives on thru his art. He left so much for us in the vault and otherwise...

I'm still baffled by the fact that SISIA was recorded april 21st, exactly 30 years ago.

On a lighter side, there is probably something we can divide by 7 in all of this, and get a cosmic truth out of it.

As for the elevator, the muse said it best: are we gonna let it bring us down?

It´s not just you. Even Wendy mentioned this eerie coincidence in an interview the other day.

I mean, it IS really, really weird.

And keep in mind that he already almost died on April 21, 1996. Or was it 1995? I´m pretty sure it was 1996.

I always thought it would be like Ray Charles. Old and receiving tributes. In my mind, Prince was the most healthy person.

.

But on the other hand, I cant imagine Prince old. I dont know if he did too. I wonder if he would settle down, play more introspective music. But probably not. Maybe it would be hard for him.

To be honest (maybe a bit naive) but I really did think Prince would be around for several more decades (possibly even outliving me).

The healthy living (again - we didn't know what we know now, then) and the better-than-your-and-my-genetics + wealth . . . all pointed to him being around for a while.

Career-wise, I did expect him to slow down with studio releases and touring bit from 2016 onward, had he lived. In no way did I expect him to churn out 15-20 more albums of new material with constant touring in his lifetime.

So, what now? Now I'm enjoying what we do have from him (which is a lot, including boots) and more than that I'm creating a "safe" playlist for my son to start getting into his music.

This is the reaction that I don't get! When someone replies like this, as though Prince having or getting AIDS is just a ridiculous impossibility or too impossible to even think of, is just ridiculous to me! Prince was human like everyone else, and during those years when he was at his most outrageous and promiscious, happened during those years when AIDS was very much prevelant, and he could have very well been exposed to it! So, stop acting like Prince was above it all, because he wasn't! Again, he was human just like we all are, and not ammune to diseases or anything else that human beings go through or get!

I have to admit the first time I read the blind item a week before Prince's death-- about a celebrity with AIDS who was dying-- it never occurred to me it was Prince and was appalled to read many comments saying it is Prince. I dismissed it. I didn't even take seriously what happened to him at Moline when he had the emergency landing. I really thought he was just battling the flu although I did found it odd that he had the flu in April, which is waaay past the flu season. Still, I didn't have any clue that it was serious. I wished Prince was more forthcoming about what he was going through and instead left us all in shock with his sudden death and are still talking about what caused his death over a year later.

I know you're being sarcastic, but what if did have AIDS........so what??? My point is, some act like AIDS couldn't happen to Prince, or that AIDS is just too horrible to think of where he was concerned, I just don't get that, that's all.
