Your Favorite Album/CD cover?

Your favorite album cover?

At the moment I'm going with Planet Earth just because it has that cool holographic thing that changes from Symbol to Prince holding the earth.

Y'all?

Probably 1999 - because he did the art himself.

Although Parade is totally lick -able.

I will ponder that question and get back to you, but as a guy, I cringed when I saw LOVESEXY's cover. :::shudder:::

I didn't focus so much on it tho, and was pleased with what was on the album.

I'll get back to you on my FAVORITE cover, this sounds like fun!! priest

It's like a cartoon to much to me to ever be offensive.

I've always loved the Around The World In A Day album art.

I like the artwork inside the Parade album; the scrapbook looking stuff. It was all very cohesive with singles, etc. The Rainbow Children is nice.

All up to Lovesexy are essential.
All later ones are meh, some very cringeworthy even.

I cant pick a 'best' but should mention The Family album cover is between the 10 best.

Hell yeah i can pick my best, nothing's ever that strong as PR, even with the near unreadable lyrics inside.

(all vinyl of course)

I rather like the Lovesexy cover...

...and rainbow children, and come, lotus flower, the hitnrun covers...

The hits/bsides is nice, too.

Sign O' the Times...

It's so trippy...when I look at it I almost feel like I'm hallucinating.

The other cover I dig is Around the World In a Day.

I always thought this looks like something J.J. on Good Times would do.

The artist for The Rainbow Children was Cibabi Bayoc. But the artist for most of the Good Times paintings, Ernie Barnes, had a similar style and subject matter:

Good Times was one of my favorite shows as a kid. And those paintings were just amazing.

"Come" makes me want to follow him past the gates and into the darkness.

The album cover for "1999" is a piece of fine art disguised as an ornate doodle.

Parade is perfect. It looks just how the album sounds. Playful, loose, baroque, a little cloudy.
