Y'all need it as much as the longer version of "When 2 R In Love" with Eric Leeds's sax... Useless, but interesting nonetheless... Neversin. [Edited 5/15/17 10:55am]

Is it already circulating, even only in the inner circle?!?!?!?

I think it is an Amazon Prime vs Not Prime: but sometimes when I look at the expanded set it says $25 and at others $29...weird

what is WB doing? The website has no news and makes no mention of this set in the news section. And if you go to the Prince page it had links but one goes to AOA and one to iTunes (and then not to his main page, I had to click 2 more times to get to this set) and the third is a dead link.

Looking forward to it but the glaring omissions here are : All Day, All Night, G-Spot and Traffic Jam. All are great songs and would have sounded excellent remastered.

As to the omission of All Day, All Night,

you may argue that this is because it later given to Jill Jones for her self titled debut but this was a different version and yet if this logic was true then why do they still include The Dance Electric which was given to Andre and is already released on Andre Cymone's 'AC' but with Andre's vocals?

Especially looking forward to the massively underrated gem, Possessed (assuming it's his vocal version and not the instrumental) and Wonderful Ass along with the other previously unheard songs.

EddieC said: I would love to streaming numbers of the album Lovesexy. I think you sit height and mighty on your imaginary horse, but I doubt that album as a long-play without cuts gets much plays. Thank god for for the long versions and singles on hits packages or else I rarely listen to it on streaming services.

Ugot2shakesumthin said: I doubt Lovesexy gets streamed much either--but when I wanted to hear just Anna Stesia and streaming it was my only option a few days ago, I clicked on the album, found A.S. in the middle of the track, and listened to it. It's not that tough. But I doubt Lovesexy with separate tracks would get that much play, either. If most people want Prince, they're going to the single tracks from the hits collections anyway--they don't want the album cuts.

EddieC High and mighty--imaginary horse. Okay. That's cool. I still feel the same way--if something doesn't fit your taste or expectations, and you choose not to stick it out to the end because you've decided you don't like it--then you chose not to stick it out, and it's not anyone else's fault but your own if you miss something from making that choice. I regret taking out all the more natural yous from my original post and substituting people in order to avoid having it taken personally--since you had listened I didn't want you to think I was talking about you in particular. But I seem to have offended you anyway. And I still don't think the streaming revenue on the track will be significant no matter how it's divided or not divided.

The German import has Lovesexy tracked. I have a copy.....

Anna Stesia 4:58

Lovesexy 5:47

.

I think it has a lot to do with P's estate. Hopefully they get things sorted out very soon.

.

Is it available on Amazon? I think they have everything there?

All Day All Night was recorded after the Purple Rain sessions and worked on waaaaay after. Hell, even Our Destiny/ Roadhouse Garden doesn't belong on there.

Hell, even Our Destiny/ Roadhouse Garden doesn't belong on there.

That's an opinion.

But since others may be of the opinion that this era of 1984 and the creation and releases of other tracks like this along with releases like Erotic City and 17 days were all played at the same live show and released as singles soon after, then they get to hold the opinion that it certainly does belong there.

This release is what it is, coming out due to whatever deals were made in the past. Hopefully we'll get a proper archive series in time. I'd rather that over remasters with bonus cd's of era specific approximations as extra tracks.

Not true. It was recorded on 7 June 1984, the same concert as where Our Destiny and Roadhouse Garden were recorded - before the PR album was released. So I believe it should have been eligible for inclusion (along with the fact it's an excellent song!)

The version that was recorded later (in 1986) was Jill Jones' version.

ADAN's overdubs on the version we all have occured in 1986. Why the hell should ANY song worked on post-PR sessions be included?

It could have been a B-side but it was 2 weeks before the album's release and at that time Prince did not have the power to add a song that late. Given that GOD (vocal) was the last song to be recorded (Aug 20 84) for the Project. I suppose any of the songs performed at the June 7th show could have been recorded or completed in time for a B-side.

For Instance

Crystal Ball
Moonbeam Levels
Electric Intercourse
Adonis and Bathsheba
Come Elektra Tuesday
9 _ 5 people
The Grand Progression
Witness
Wonderful ass
Interactive
Acknowledge Me
What's my name
Lust u always
In a large room with no light
Crucial
All my dreams

I'm a believer in the power of the vault.

I don't see the original Sex Shooter (with Vanity) or G-Spot there sad wasn't it listed as one of the songs in the original script for Purple Rain before Electric Intercourse, which is included in the the deluxe version? http://www.imsdb.com/scri...-Rain.html

"Suddenly "G-Spot" comes to a rousing end. The CROWD cheers wildly. Prince moves quickly to the piano and launches into "Electric Intercourse," a love ballad which, as it progresses, becomes a personal statement for Vanity and Prince himself."

What is weird is if it would have been G Spot then might we be miffed that this set did not include Computer Blue?

But I think is just an okay song... Nowhere NEAR as good as Computer Blue (any version)

As to the original album: I would not change a thing! It was at the upwards limit of how long an album could be at the time. Sure some longer songs would be nice...but from the songs as released, I would not change it. I would not want WDC with bass... why? because who knows what it would have done if it was different.

But that is NOT to say I do not want to hear all the full-length songs and alternative mixes.
