Make Batman your own masterpiece.

All you have to do is cut off two songs which are "Arms Of Orion" and "Lemon Crush" and replace the songs with two new songs or extend the album with more songs from that particular time period. I'll start.

Feel U Up

I love You In Me

Hey, look what I just did. I made a 9/10 album in just a blink of an eye.

When an album contains one of (if not the best) ballad and one of the best partyjams in Scandalous & Partyman it should be treated with respect.

I would replace those two songs you mentioned with "Dance With The Devil" + the song he gave BrownMark "Shall We Dance"...
Now PrinceVault said the latter was written in the Summer of 1989 so by that timeline it couldn't have been on Batman since the soundtrack was released in the summer...

But something tells me Prince had his own version of the track earlier than that. The title itself is based on one of The Joker's trademark lines in the movie... It sounds & feels like a Batman track. Just my IMO.

So the tracklist would be:
1. The Future
2. Electric Chair
3. Shall We Dance
4. Partyman
5. Vicki Waiting (As extended as they could fit on the album)
6. Trust
7. Dance With The Devil
8. Scandalous
9. Batdance
As the original album stands though, it's one of my favorites & was one of the 1st P albums I received back in '93.

I do dig "Lemon Crush"...The album really is great as is...It was a different sound. What other P album sounds like it? That's the whole idea, you know. Every album should have it's own sound & he achieved that for sure.

ditto.

I dont like 'chair' and 'trust' mostly. Let's replace those with Devil and Love u in me (at the very end cause i doesnt fit the rest - bit like April on Parade)

1) The Future

2) Electric Chair

3) The Arms Of Orion

4) Partyman (Video Mix)

5) Vicky Waiting

6) Trust

7) Dance With The Devil

8) Scandalous

9) Batdance (Uncut Version)

If you really can't stand TAOO replace it with "I Love U In Me".

But I never found TAOO that horrible mess 95% of orgers seem to think.

Have to bag Trust and Arms of Orion. Replace with Feel U Up and Dance with the Devil. Boom. So much better.

"I Love U In Me" would sound wildly out of place on this album lol it's a very sparse, stripped down ballad.....a total departure from the other tracks. And lyrically,it doesn't fit the theme of the movie at all

Well, lyrically not all the Batman tracks fit the theme of the movie.

"Lemon Crush" doesn't at all, for example.

Can you figure out the relation between Bruce Wayne and Vicky Vale as seen in the movie in that text?!?

I think the more focused songs are these attributed to "The Joker", even if the line referring to the "Trust In God" in "Trust" are obviously not what you are expecting to listen from The Joker.

Vicki Waiting really is the best song on here.
Surprised no one has mentioned Pink Cashmere or Rave?
Pink Cashmere is my favourite Prince song. Even Elephants and Flowers would fit quite well with the hard hitting drum sound of Batman.

Was Batman his first non Linn Drum album?

Shockedelicus

I kinda like Arms of Orion and love Lemon Crush. I'd add a couple tracks but not take any out. Batman really benefits from its B-sides, which give the other tracks context and some added Gotham City darkness. Seriously, 200 Balloons and Trust snap together like Legos.

  1. The Future
  2. Electric Chair
  3. Arms of Orion
  4. Partyman (Video Mix)
  5. Vicky Waiting
  6. I Love U in Me
  7. Sex
  8. 200 Balloons
  9. Trust
  10. Lemon Crush
  11. Scandalous!
  12. Dance with the Devil
  13. Batdance

They could do a very good "Deluxe" edition with this album.

We're here, might as well get into it.

What a great tune. Really fits the Batman feel especially the Dance With The Devil sample "da- da----danncee!" I can see this being a Joker song. Its kind of dark and eerie.

I think it's rubbish but I can see it as the start of something that would end up with Thunder and Gett Off so it's at least interesting.

Plus it has his best ever lyric:

If I'm workin' at my jobba
I'm the victim, you're the robba

lol

Identity

Batman was when I came to the realization that even Prince could release a lackluster album. It signaled the end of his classic period.
