Celebration 2000, a friend and I were talking with a security guard in the large concert room when we hear this, "Ahem!" from across the room. We turn and see Prince standing on the other side of the room, tapping his foot, and looking at the security guard. He seemed to be saying, "I'm over here."

Hahaha did he think you were planning to kidnap him or something? Sheesh. falloff

lol I think it was more of a, "You're supposed to be guarding me, NOT talking with the women. Do your job!"

During the Celebration 2000 he drove next to me as we were both going to the concert hall for his concert that nite. Another time we got to see him and Mayte exit his tour bus and head into The Vibe Show. He waved to us as I yelled for his attention. That's about it. Pretty sorry in comparison to others. My experiences non the less.

I just thought about the only "encounter" I might have had with Prince and it wasn't actually physical. It was here on the org. I had a username before this one where I had a link to my website and music, I forget what I was even talking about on that thread but I remember it was laudatory and positive. Anyway, at that time, I always checked my webtraffic the, each day. I never did get much but the day after that post, I noticed a visit from chanhassen minnesota, I also noticed that the only song that got any play was a cover of Little Red Corvette. Being negative, I just assumed it was a staffer who might tell me to cease and desist. they never did, anyway, now I actually think it was Prince.

My deaf niece swears she saw him in a McDonalds in downtown Seattle around that time period so it might be true. She said he said (signed) 'Hi.' to her and smiled. She decribed what he was wearing, etc. She tells me this story every once in a while and I always was pessimisstic but maybe now I'm not sure.

my best friend coulda swore he saw him in the beacon hill area of seattle in the 90's, asked my friend where he could find Jimi Hendrix's grave, he said Prince kept turning around and smirking at him when he walked away. I don't think it was Prince, there are no shortage of wierdo's in seattle.

I was one of MANY people there..

i was there for (6) days.

there was a constant stream of:

musicians,

cooks,

clothing makers,

film/video people,

P.P. employee's ect around..

i was given many 'RULES' upon my arrival..

but after a few days of getting comfortable walking around all over the place.. and unrestricted...

i found myself in Prince's private bathroom and dressing room..(not on the list of rules).. wink

It was a SHOCK to see him walk in!

I have the MOST amazing photos! cool

A woman I used to work with is from Minneapolis and used to work in a movie theater. Prince and his entourage showed up to see "Staying Alive", so this would have been 1983. She said she had his car towed for parking illegally.

I guess the ONA tour NPGMC music club thing sort of counts. Members had access to soundchecks and good seats. At a show in Atlanta he took questions from the members, including the myself, which was the only time I ever "met" him. The discussion gradually devolved into a religous discussion so I checked out to get go a drink. It was boring me to tears and spiraling badly, the way most discussions about God tend to do.

But at least I have a "I got to talk to Prince" story.

Was it the Knollwood Theatre in St. Louis Park? He and his entourage used to frequent it.

On May 28, 2006, Prince was playing at the Empire Ballroom in Vegas. (He was scoping things out for his later residency and play shows on May 27 and 28.) It was my birthday, so I hopped on a plane that morning and headed out for the show that night.

Some of my friends held a spot in line for me, so I beat it over to the Empire as soon as I checked into my hotel and we waited and waited and waited. At one point, we looked over and there was Prince, halfway out the stage door, taking our picture.

We yelled, "Hey! No pictures! mad " - teasing him about his own "no pictures rule." He laughed and put the camera down - and started chatting with us. (We were supposed to be let in for a soundcheck, but it was very late. He told us that a piece of equipment had malfunctioned and they were trying to track down a replacement.) All of sudden, this woman farther back in the line screamed, "I LOVE YOU, PRIIIIIINCE." Prince made exactly this face --> eek and ran into the building.

That woman is lucky the rest of us didn't whup her ass for making him leave.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yeah, I knew I was taking a major rish taking his pic, but I figure it's not everyday a person gets an chance. So I went for it. Strange thing, I took 5 pics but only one turned out right. The outhers were distorted. True story.

A limousine pulled up to our Moneyapolis Prince Parties at The Front in Minneapolis. It sat there for a while. Then someone left a box outside the building.

Inside was NPG Jerseys.

I still have mine.
