What?

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I was wondering this myself....I have both versions....and always found the effect very jarring during the Syracuse show. Don't get me wrong....I GET it....but it just looked WEIRD.

Was the non-mirror version ever officially released?

The non-mirror version that I have is from the April 30, 2016 re-airing of the original live TV broadcast of the Syracuse show on Australian TV. Several scenes are different from the VHS/Laserdisc version, and When Doves Cry does not have the mirror effect.

I'm betting it will. Why would they change it.

I wish they wouldnt though.

Thats why I liked that Atlanta one thats well released. It shows whats goin down during the song.

good question! I was wondering if they used the same 'master' or if they re-edited it from the original tapes? and I also wondered if the one on home video was a re-edit of the source tapes or as broadcasts?

(I assume it was broadcast live and edited on the fly--that is shots chosen on the fly in some booth. So it could have been captured from that feed or mixed (or whatever) after the fact for the original home video. We know it was altered to add the into text.)

interesting... I hope they have all the original tapes and use those to make this DVD as they would be a little bit better.

The concert specifically because of some of the imagery reminds me of that "Wild Wild West" video by The Escape Club.
