This was the song that blew my mind the first time I heard it on the radio late at night when I lived in Pasadena, TX back in the day. I was already a Prince fan (since the release of Controversy) then, but this song took my love of his music to a whole 'nuther level. It gave me chills then and still does today. One of his best!

I had tears in my eyes when I saw him at the Paramont theater in Seattle for the Hit & Run tour and he sat at the piano doing a medley and then started in on HCYDCMA. I had waited all of my life (up to that point) to hear him play it. I didn't think he would as there are so many 'hits' but he came through for me! Truly a magical moment....

Aw so lucky! I never got to see him live but I'm sure I could imagine myself getting emotional, especially on a song like hcydcma
