Well. 'rare' or 'non album'. Just a tag to differentiate between stuff that was released, but not on the album.

I didn't miss off the full Shockadelica, I was simply keeping space to a premium. It's on the Camille disc.

Ahh its all good then lol

because they are already on Disc I II

U think we need it? I would rather include other outtakes or extended version I don't know of

I was refering to 7" version of songs on the album.

And no, we don't.

yeah I would rather some stuff that came directly from the SOTT (non Dream Factory/Crystal Ball/Camille) period

-Sign O' the Times album remastered -Dream Factory -Crystal Ball 3 album set -Sign O' the Times film + outtakes That would be 5-6 CDs plus 1 DVD. Yes, of course it would mean we'd have the same songs several times over, but it would be one hell of a box set! And don't say there's no market for it! Columbia Records released a 4 CD box of Bob Dylan's Self Portrait and that's one of the most hated albums of his carreer! So imagine what can be done with one of Prince's most loved albums...

This one is a tremendous amount of work if you want it to be done properly.
You need inputs from Wendy and Lisa, Susannah, Susan Rogers, Brett Fisher, the Counter-Revolution, Alan Leeds... because of the projects time spans. You also need to include Madhouse, and maybe the Flesh Sessions as well.

So basically we're talking about a "1986 - A Year In the Life" box set mixed with the SOTT "Ridiculously Deluxe Edition". Well, they're out there. Or at least were.

The wooh is on the one!

Purple Rain is THE one for the general public, we all know it and that's why it came first. The simultaneous number one album, single and movie, the oscar winning soundtrack, the album that was number one for nigh on 6 months? It deserves the honour.

Accidentally started another thread, so here's my vague track list for a vinyl deluxe edition (with download).
I was thinking of something that could actually be easily possible, and great for normal fans, not just us hardcore ;)

.
Disks 1 and 2: original album
.
Disk 3: Camille (Exact replica of the super rare album!)
Not sure if some tracks may differ from the versions on SOTT, but they'd certainly transition differently... Such a good album to hear properly mastered and sequenced!!
.
Disk 4: B-Sides, 12" mixes and out takes. This could include:
Crystal Ball
Dream Factory
Visions
Witness 4 the Prosecution
A Place In Heaven
Movie Star
All My Dreams
U Got the Look (Long Look)
House Quake (Mo'Quake)
Hot Thing (Extended Remix)
La La La, He He He

I think Purple Rain is a good start for the many deluxe editions to come. Sign O' The Times would have been cool as the first deluxe edition but, it would have been a task to put it together and it may have been too much. It's gonna be interesting to see how a deluxe edition to Sign O' The Times would turn out. So many unreleased songs to consider along with demo and alternate mixes. One things for sure is that the estate/NPG Records will have my money when that's released.

It's the 30 th anniversary of this legendary album. This is the one album that you can argue is right there with PR. I understand though that the PR deluxe was overdue, Since 2014. It would've been cool to get a SOT deluxe to celebrate Its 30 yrs.

yes yeahthat beg clapping

Could not agree more...it needs to be next! I TRULY hope TGE gets one too. Such an underappreciated album with so much badassedness to cunsume!
