Prince and his epic zone. The zone of them all?

Was at my sisters wedding in suburban New York City a few years ago and had a discussion with an aquatiance of mine who was turning 40 and never fulfilled his rock star dreams. He was actually the guitarist for another gone too soon talent Jeff Buckley. He was both lamenting and observing that all the greats have an almost always exact amount of golden zone in the prime of their talent. 4 or at most five years. Just heard and purchased the Electric Intercourse studio version and was again so in awe of the Prince zone of 80 to 84. He not only was in a zone but was almost meta physical. His voice timber ,his production choices ,his song writing even up until he recorded Temptation in the summer of 84 is really jaw dropping. I don't think there has ever been a zone like he possessed in those 5 years. That includes the greatest acts ever I personally think. He was on a level that we probably won't see again in our lifetime. Bravo Prince for your bad ass zone.

For me, his prime rounded out home run zone extended from 1982-1987.

You should tell your acquaintensce that being the guitarist for Jeff Buckley, who was phenomenal and one of my all-time favorite artists, means that he DID accomplish his rockstar dreams, even if he did not get the fame and fortune.
