I don't think flat. The flops were like platforms and the sneakers like wedges. Sorry if someone already answered

I hope they found these furry boots and will put them on display. He had a black pair too though I think he wore the white ones more often. I love them. 10qvtr6.jpg

What furry boots? wink

I wish they would really do one of those traveling exhibitions across the U.S. like they did with Princess Di's wedding dress and clothes and the Titanic exhibits. That would be so cool. That way maybe fans who can't come to MN have the chance to see the things. The clothes, the shoes, jewelry, hand written lyrics, etc.

They should do it the way the David Bowie "Bowie Is..." travelling exhibit was handled. It's amazing.

And your point is?

Guess what: when people say things like "Prince recorded all his shows" they don't actually mean he ran out to the mixer before every show to press the red button himself either.

.

He didn't order Susan to start collecting all tapes. That's something she did because he was careless with them.

It's not like she could've done anything behind his back either, is it? He obviously agreed to it, even if it was Susan's idea first. Who cares.

This is utterly childish. He could have easily employed people. Instead clothing etc was stuffed into garages etc. Look at all the effort the Graceland folks are putting into preserving the outfits vs Prince's utter lack of effort. And we now have several tales of the same happening to audio and video tapes, which is very worrying.

I don't consider it a "hoard". Dude had a damn near FOURTY year career! Each phase of it a bit different, with some major milestones. I'm glad he didn't just chuck things, it's awesome that all that stuff is around. For a typical person with a typical life, this would be a hoard. But not for such a creative superstar with such volume of output. biggrin

-Some outfits were found stuffed under things not all of them has it ever occurred to you that those items might have been things he was looking thru at the time of his death. He had a warehouse full of this stuff and obviously any work on the museum would have required bringing in people to help which of course requires money and time. If he took the time to have exhibits built and designed asked Sheila E to send up on drums it should be obvious that additional preparations would have been forthcoming. Also there is an interview with David Hampton who said he cataloged music for Prince in 2005 and built the screening room so periodically he did have people doing things for him. I also suspect that signing that deal with WB made have been for getting help with cleaning up the tapes and getting the music out. You are a little hard on and man that was doing 150 things for almost 40 years.

Along with his vision for one day having a museum, I also think we need to remember how much he controlled everything that bore his image, etc. He mentioned once that he saw something of his at a Hard Rock Cafe type of place and it pissed him off that a former staff member or musician had donated it (even when Prince gifted it to that person). Fortunately for him he had the means to store everything. Personally, along with exhibits at PP , I'd like to see an exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He certainly has enough stuff. Or even a traveling exhibit like the one Bowie had a few years back.

My son asked why Prince didn't donate some of his clothes to the less fortunate (my son is 9). He then added, " On second thought, not many people could fit in his tiny clothes. Well, maybe I could". Haha

My personal feeling is that Prince was still relatively young and he was just beginning to discuss opening PP as a museum. He was just too busy creating music and touring to be worried about all of his "stuff". He was invovled in a lot of things and I am also guilty of just letting "stuff" fall on the backburner. Maybe he was a procrastinator? I do feel that he had very good intentions, but did he really need all those shoes? LOL lol

Inside Paisley Park, archivists have discovered thousands of costumes, shoes, notebooks, guitars, and more

Last week, on the one-year anniversary of Prince's death, the New York Times ran a pretty fascinating interview with the archivist charged with cataloging the thousands of times left behind in his Paisley Park estate.

Angie Marchese and her team have spent the last year going room by room. So far, they've cataloged more than 7,000 items, and they still have a ways to go. As Marchese told the Times, that number amounts to less than 5% percent of the compound's holdings.

If 7000 items is 5% that means we are talking 140,000 items. That is a lot. The ST/NYT articles differ a bit but they both have the 7000 number.

--He was not a hoarder he had talked about turning Paisley Park into a museum 20 years ago. He had already started working on it. You need stuff to put in the museum and you also realize he was not going to let other people profit off of his belongings. His options would have been to throw the stuff away or auction it for charity but he gave a lot of money to charity.
He obviously didn't have all this stuff properly catalogued otherwise Graceland wouldn't be doing it right now. He was a hoarder. Nothing embarrassing or something to get personally offended over.

It would stand to reason that he did stash away stuff to the point of "hoarding"...he was intensely private, didn't completely trust ONE person at all and hoarding is seen as a coping method. This revelation simply demonstrates his humanity.

This made me laff cuz in a recent interveiw for her book Mayte mentions the "furry Ugg boots" and that P never wore flats and that even with those boots he would "stand on tiptoe" cuz being in heels gives you a different body posture.

But I had peeped those lucite wedges in performance in those boots when he sat on the piano and was dangling his legs, so I what like, Huh? What is she talking about? They had heels inside the boot bottoms! confused

Anyway, that made me laff cuz I figured other fans would've noticed cuz we notice erreythang about P.
