NOt a bad list. Of course, I am not crazy about how they excluded prince's quiet charitable and philantropic tendencies (which is indeed a new discovery) but included his 'vicious streak" with the gun microphone story (which isn't a new discovery at all).

The rest of the ancedotes are fun though.

I'm of the understanding Prince's charity work was never secret and that it was all common knowledge.

.

For example he toured for carity, he set up his own charity, he funded a school, he released a charity single SST, etc etc.

.

So I never saw his chairty work as being secret or unrecognised.

I am so happy to finally have an explanation for that horrendous Raspberry Beret hairdo.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I'm mildly surprised that he had never heard While My Guitar Gently Weeps until very close to the RnRHOF performance but it's not that much of a stretch I guess, his influences were predominantly other genres of music despite his knack for a Beatles-esque pop song from Purple Rain onwards.

Come Together from Abbey Road was obviously a fave too later on, but would he really never have even given The Beatles (white) album a listen?

Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

Prince could sometimes tell fibs to exaggerate his genius. wink
