I'm going to have my vinyl out tonight. I might just start out with SOTT, one last time, as I've been playing it so much lately. It seems a good starting point.

.

After that, I'll probably go through a lot of my vinyl collection, which is almost everything that is available. I'll just go where the mood strikes.

.

Although technically I was listening to Prince music after midnight last night (this morning) but that was a mixed CD and I don't know what was playing at 12:01 a.m. cool

.

But tonight will be emotional for sure.

Gonna pull myself a large glass of my favourite tipple tonight, flop down in to the armchair next to my stereo and just take a long random journey through all my favourites ...

Can't believe its been a year already ... and still can't believe I won't see the man work his magic on a stage again.

I started with Purple Rain and Sometimes it Snows in April, but it didn't feel right.

I went on to:

Lolita

Clouds

Sticky Like Glue

Loved it. Made me smile. I think it's taken a year for this feeling.

I needed to see him as well so for now I'm Watching Prince tribute video block on MTV. So many wonderful videos and friends are saying great things about him and there are a few of his interviews. They are doing a great job. Later I will crank out his music in my headphones as I head out to see Purple Rain.

There's something wrong with me. I can't listen to his music. I want to but I can't. I've tried and I feel 100 times worse.

Hopefully one day you can find joy in his music again instead of sadness.

Thank you

Good question that I have been thinking about this week. I agree with the last post, I may just go with whatever pops in my head and let that play itself out during the day. I have also thought that Purple Rain is going to be needed somewhere through the day as well as Sometimes it Snows In April. Comeback and There is Lonely, and Empty Room also come to mind sad sad. It's going to be hard...I also think I am going to need some upbeat stuff too...My Name is Prince was on my mind earlier today as a must-listen to song on Friday. Also, Let's Work and Endorphinemachine must also be played that day. I feel like I am going to want to honor the grieving side of me cry cry as well the side of me that wants to BLAST headbang headbang his amazing music out my car windows for the world to hear!! I would love to hear what people actually play on the 21st....

I ended up listening to Extraordinary first! It just seemed to be appropriate. (Although I woke up with one nite alone in my head... so I played that second).

Good call on car stereo up and windows down. I was doing that for about two weeks this time last year ... every morning in the same queue of traffic in to the office, got a couple of nods from other motorists which was nice.

Ended up plugging in my Fender this evening and playing along to a few classics. Thank god my neighbour is old and deaf, bless her! biggrin

21st of April a date many of here will never forget. For many of us this Friday will be an emotional day.

On the anniversary of the purple one departing from this existence what Prince song will you first listen to?

For me it will be 'Sometimes in Snows in April'.....and since Prince was a album guy I will follow it up with the 'The Truth', his acoustic peformance is so cathartic on that album.

I will obviously then be following up with the usual line up...Purple Rain etc.

Quite weird...in the event, I didn't play any music at all.

Nothing in particular honestly. I have been listening to The Current almost all day, and it has been pretty good. Dancing around, singing. I miss Prince. To this day there are a group of songs I still refuse to listen to, they make me teary eyed. I listen to Prince daily, but just skip those songs still.

I miss you Prince.

Didn't listen to a particular album today but spent the last two hours watching videos on MTV Live and BET Jams. I Wish U Heaven, The One, Thieves in the Temple, Gold, Sexuality, Diamond and Pearls, a Fury, Take Me With U-Live, Batdance, list goes on. Prince was so young and so were we. What a freaking ride it was! The tragic end cannot take away his enormous talent and the happiness it brought us. It's harder to access now but it's still there.
