There's SLIGHTLY LONGER versions of "The Beautiful Ones" & "Darling Nikki" that would look good on this Anniversary Edition, as well as "When Doves Cry" WITH the Bass!!!!

cool

"the Beautiful Ones" has more lyrics in the part he is talking and it is very nice! "Darling Nikki" IIRC is mostly just some more instrumental jam (But both could be put into the album with ease as could "computer blue" for that matter--but some are purest and would not like that either)

As to Doves... I am not sure the mix with bass even exists...but if it does it is really something that should be released and the estate should make every effort to find it.

It'll be disappointing. The lack of bass in the track makes it.

Last night, I got a tip from an industry insider that Warner Bros had registered all the tracks for Purple Rain Deluxe. As a songwriter myself with registered works, I have access to these databases - after following the lead wediscovered the following registrations - all recently registered by Warners marked with a 2017 release date and with full ISRC codes (These codes are used to identify released works across platforms).

So, without further ado here it is! Exclusive information about the forthcoming long-awaited Prince release, PURPLE RAIN DELUXE, to be released in June! Please feel free share this information across the whole Purple Family - all I ask is that you follow my facebook page (The Violet Reality) and repost the included image.
Please note - this is not necessarily the final order of tracks - and it's also possible (though unlikely) that there are other tracks not registered yet. Also worth noting - we've yet to hear anything about the accompanying live video DVDs.

If you are in with them tell them they are doing a shit job. I would prefer a different show. Syracuse we have all seen.Who care about HD. It is average show. Tell them to pick a better a show and includung 7 "edits is just milking the release. Why do you want to bore the fans with same song over and over. They have let the fans down badly. We have waited years to get given what we already got.

In your opinion of course.

The fans are going to buy this for disc 3 regardless of anything else. The rematered album is obvious and honestly, I'm not even too bothered about that. The collection of singles makes sense as an historical part of the package, even if I'm not personally intersted in that disc too much. The thing to remember is that this isn't just for the hard core, this is for everyone.

The only disapointment for me so far is the lack of the 2nd unreleased album, which they promised in the press release. But we're grumbling about stuff which hasn't even been officially announced yet, let's wait and see what is revelead tomorrow.

I like the tracklisting for the most part. I'll be buying it. I wish that they didn't put all of the single edited versions on this release. You would think that they would save some of those for another posthumous compilation in the future. It is what it is. Now, what i would have put on the Purple Rain Deluxe Edition? I would have went with for the tracklisting. This was what I predicted to appear on the Purple Rain Deluxe Edition:

Disc 1: The entire album remastered with some rarities.

Let's Go Crazy

Take Me With U

The Beautiful Ones

Computer Blue

Darling Nikki

When Dove Cry

I Would Die 4 U

Baby I'm A Star

Purple Rain

Erotic City [12' mix/b-side to Let's Go Crazy]

Another Lonely Christmas [12' mix/b-side to I Would Die 4 U]

17 Days (b-side to When Doves Cry)

God [Vocal] (b-side to Purple Rain)

Disc 2: unreleased, alternate, and more rarities

Let's Go Crazy [12'/special dance mix]

Take Me With U [full version)

Electric Intercourse [studio/overdub mix]

God [Love Theme From Purple Rain] (b-side to Purple Rain, UK)

Possessed [1984 Instrumental or vocal, if that exist]

The Beautiful Ones [full version]

Father's Song

Computer Blue [full version]

Darling Nikki [full version along with the backward message]

Disc 3: unreleased and alternate

17 Days [rumored full version]

G-Spot

When Dove Cry [early version with bassline included or June 7, 1984 live recording]

I Would Die 4 U [full version]

Baby I'm A Star [full version]

Purple Rain [full version]

Possessed [1983 version]

Wednesday

Traffic Jam

The 2 DVDs:

Prince and The Revolution Live - Live in Syracuse 1985 concert

First Avenue 8/3/1983 concert

Disc 3 really does excite me, I was hoping for Our Destiny Road house Garden and The Dance Electric but thought they would fall outside the albums time parameters, so a little shocked but very pleased to see them included.

Tracks missing I was hoping for.

G spot
Feline
Screams of passion
Traffic Jam
My Love belongs 2 u

Plus I really thought there would be a handful of previously unknown tracks.

Our only chance of getting a different show was the Syracuse main show .Other is more or less nailed on to be first avenue benefit show where songs originated . Anyway Syracuse is not such a good show so I would have lost it better show in worse quality as seen that in descent quality. I think a lot of hardcore fans are going to be bored as just disc 3 will interest them. Putting out a statement saying 2 discs of unreleased music is an out and out lie which is disgusting from organisations you should trust. They should quit deceiving people . When you give a statement you tell the truth. So yes they have done a terrible job and not just my opinion the majority can see it.Not going to suck up to guy giving info .Warner's should be ashamed

I'm happy that some of these unreleased recordings are seeing the light of day. That 1983 recording of We Can Fuck is the blueprint for We Can Funk (1990). Love & Sex is going to cool to hear. The Dance Electric is dope! I sure hope that they use the 6/7/1984 live recording of Our Destiny/Roadhouse Garden. I sure hope that they use the 1983 original recording of Wonderful Ass and not the 1986 version that was worked on with Wendy & Lisa. Father Song is going to be cool to hear. Computer Blue extended version is going to be great to own officially. I hope Velvet Kitty Cat is an early version and not the one that's out there, sound like re-recording or re-worked. Katrina's Paper Dolls is going be cool. I hope Possessed is the 1984 version and not the 1983 version. Regardless, it's still a win to finally see another recording of Possessed is officially released, besides the live version from Syracuse in 1985.

Really this release is a win-win. If you don't like disk 2, just don't listen to it - or just buy Disks 1 and 3 off of iTunes or something. We get a remastered PR from a mastering engineer I fully trust, and we get full studio quality versions of some amazing songs we already know and love which will enhance our listening experience because of the full fidelity. People can complain, however the powers that be did a fantastic job IMO of bridging the hardcore fans and the non-hardcore fans for this release

That Syracuse show is amazing, and is an important moment for me as a fan in solidifying my life long Prince devotion. Once The Revolution finished Irristible Bitch/Possessed it was OVER for me.

Also, it's got thr best Purple Rain guitar solos. Just Badass.

Syracuse is run of the mill .Even the new York shows that just surfaced are miles better. That baby I'm a star jam is shit and lasts a lifetime. Anyway be happy listening to what you already got in slightly better quality. You can probably make your own purple rain deluxe in slightly lower quality.(apart from disc 3) If you do not say something is shit they will keep doing this. So far 4ever one extra song Blu-ray of movies we already seen .Boring Lazy easy money releases. Why let them get away with it.

I hope it'll be in a format that can be replicated nicely if the other albums get the same treatment down the line. I wouldn't like my hypothetical 'Prince Deluxe Remaster Series' to be a line of jewel cases with a big Purple Rain cardboard box sticking up in the middle. lol

I'm excited!!!! Yeah, it could be better, but it could be a lot worse - (paging Will.i.am). There's a shit ton to juggle - the album, b sides, extended cuts, vault songs, club shows, stadium shows - and they seem to have done a pretty good job. If it's not exactly what we were expecting, based on the press release, tough titties. Some of you sound like entitled teenagers, whining that daddy got you a BMW, when he promised a Porsche.

But it's always good to get new tracks. The age of albums has been over for a while now.

ho now, daddy didn't get me jack shit. daddy got himself a nice new BMW and he's
asking me and all of y'all to pay for it.

that's how it is. now i'm not mad. i'd gladly pay for daddy to drive whatever the fck
he wants.

but daddy should know by now that you don't send out a press release saying he'll
release 2 albums of unreleased material when in the end he only delivers one.

with that reasoning we might buy daddy his BMW but take out the engine and the
seats. then we say 'why the long face, daddy, you wanted a bmw didn't you, bitch?'

and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
