"Well it may not be the Grand Progression, but it sho is funky!" - F.U.N.K.

Prince was on here low-key and I was bitching about something (close to nothing, lol) and he asked what unreleased song I thought was his greatest and I said The Grand Progression and that he always held back the great tunes and released the weak ones. He dipped and a few hours later (or maybe a day or two, can't recall at the moment), dropped F.U.N.K. you know just casually referencing a decades old outtake for no particular reason in his then latest release. lol

I thought I remembered there was some specific person being pointed at.

eek ... biggrin

Which in some ways, conforts me in thinking stuff like "The Grand Progression" was part of a very intimate journal. I can't read this.

pFunk was really something. Prince slapping our asses for caring of his work so much.
"— I love ya, don't ya miss with me no mo'! " biggrin

The latin coda is so sweet.

I am definitely late to The Grand Progression but it was definitely worth the wait. There is such a beaurtiful yet haunting feel to the song that seeps into my soul. Only Prince does this to me! A classic bootleg if you ask me.

It's a great song, but I just can't listen to it. Something about the way he sings it is just unsettling. Maybe it's the sincerity of it all. Who knows.

This is not a song for critics. Intended only for those with souls and hearts. Shut off your mind and prepare to be moved!

Thanks for this. I went to Youtube and heard it for the first time. It's a good song. I was also able to finally hear Prince's version of Love Thy Will Be Done for the first time, which for me is more touching than The Grand Progression. Finally, I have heard his version. Life is complete! I'm happy!
