I posted awhile back that I know why it DIDN'T happen. Never meant 2 stir the "sh*tpot", so PARDON ME!!! After one of His "Mentors" took a 30-plus year old Album of Songs on the road and (made a MINT doing it), the time would've been PERFECT 4 a Revolution reunion AND a 30th Anniversary re-release of "Purple Rain" (the CROWN JEWEL in the Catalog of Prince- not in My eyes, but 2 the Label & the average Joe). OF COURSE He thought about it!!! A full-fledged Prince & The Revolution Reunion Tour would've made more $$ than the Musicology Tour by far!!! So I don't doubt that He met w/Them here & there 2 see how They were!!! I know why it didn't happen & U do too (if U think about it)....again: not 2 stir the sh*tpot!!!!!!

cool cool cool cool cool cool

1 Bonnie Boyer is deceased

2 I would love for them to jam

3 Dr Fink is tied to the Revolution

4 Eric is tied to the Family (even though he does play with the Revolution)

5 Sheila E was the band drummer...

6 Sheila E Miko Levi were a part of Sheila E's band

7 Miko disappeared a long time ago, did not stay in contact with anyone, and hasn't seemed to reach out to anyone

8 Levi disappeared and resurface around 2013 when Sheila E 'revamped' her shows with Eddie M and started doing songs like Erotic City Olivers House Koo Koo the Belle of St Mark etc. He did about 2-3 shows with them, but nothing else that I know of

9 Cat and Sheila E (are not really on good wave lengths)

10 Atlanta Bliss retired from the business (someone needs to get him out for a bit though) if possible

11 I would love a Madhouse reconnection though

Also Levi and Prince parted on bad terms after a Prince sacked Levi's wife/GF who worked at Paisley Park so not sure he would be keen on celebrating his former boss!

Where did you hear that rumour?

It was in The Vault (and possibly Days of Wild) by the Uptown people.
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

SoulAlive

^^wasn't Levi involved with Karen Lee,who was a publicist for Warner Bros.Records? Prince had "issues" with her, which complicated his relationship with Levi, who was dating her.

If you think about it.....he succeeded in reuniting the revolution. But yes it would have been a wonderful sight to see and hear if this came together while he was still with us.

I always thought the 2011-period would be perfect for Prince to reconnect with the Revolution the Family the Time (Sheila E) etc

the Welcome 2 tours seemed like they were going to be a thing were past bandmembers rejoined Prince for a few shows here and there.

This was also the period where the Family & the Time reached out 2 Prince

I think it would have been more exciting if the fusion of the 80s people into the current fold happened.

I'm glad that I at least got to see Sheila E perform with Prince during W2A. I couldn't go see Prince with the Revolution way back when... sad Had to settle for watching Purple Rain at the movies a gazzillion times. lol

That would've been cool too!! But remember: He didn't give The Family Or The Time Their Names back (hence fDeluxe & The Original 7ven)

cool

yeah I know, but the Time or Morris Day and the Time would have worked.
But despite the names, they both reached out to Prince, the Family reached out to do so a few songs with Prince and open for him, and the Time/O7 to open 4 Prince on the Welcome 2 Australia leg of the tour - I think they talked about doing a song or 2 with him as well.

Then I remember St Paul and fDeluxe making a video/song response to Prince's Purple & Gold and then Prince playing with that doing Mutiny on a show etc

I just think it could have been a cool period.

Because after hearing 20Ten,(which I do like some songs) it just felt like Prince was not really doing anything new or music culture shaking.

from a Morris interview

But he still let you perform as the Time, just not record as the Time.
Well, you know what, for the longest [time] I thought that was very gracious of him. But then I found out from a legal standpoint he couldn't stop me from using the name [laughs]. I was like, "I'll be damned."

You know, the last night that I saw Prince he said, "I want to manage [the Time]. ... I want to take you guys to Europe. ... I want to put it together for you."
