Alternate title: That Penguin Mess.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

It feels like a demo, but it works for the film I guess.

I really like it. It's upbeat and positive. It's also kid-appropriate, which I love because I'm a teacher and I like to share Prince's kid-appropriate songs with my students.

I love it when Prince acted on some songs as if Radios Still Matter.

"Pope" is also a good example of a song that is obviously calibrated to be a radio hit in some parallel universe.

The structure, the production of"Song Of The Heart" really tries to aim for mass appeal, but it's cursed by its subtlety: it's intelligent, accessible, sophisticated pop.
And as always with the bright side of Prince, it's fun(ny).

You can tell Prince appreciated the movie: he could have chosen any beat, but this is one simplified scat-like tap-dancing beat that would definetely make Mumble's feet happy.

The Colors R brighter, the Bond is much tighter
No Child's a failure
Until the Blue Sailboat sails him away from his dreams
Don't Ever Lose, Don't Ever Lose
Don't Ever Lose Your Dreams
