My SolRepublic's are playing it really well, too. I'm still not sure if it's from the original mastertape or not. Other stuff from this era sounds better. (It's probably been discussed to a sickening level on here.)

It's always been one of my top 10 outtakes, including stuff like "Electric Intercourse", "Horny Toad", "All My Dreams", "Old Friends 4 Sale".

Horny Toad is not an outtake.

Lossless sound? Right, because I'm sure you can really hear those few more frequencies.

- what I meant....:

Great "Moonbeam Levels" finally is out and officially released on Cd.

(It has always been a favorite unreleased song (for many fans) during all these years, I heard it then in 1988 or 89 I believe, deep love from me. Yes, the song is really good, it is timeless).

Try the Bose headphones: much better. Beats is poor quality: despite taking care of it, one side was no more responding. I'm not a huge fan of the big ones. Those inside the ear are better.

To answer the thread, Moonbeam Levels is a beautiful song. Too bad that the fading piano was not included in the official release.

The song is brilliant, but when it was finally released on Prince4Ever,it felt....anti-climatic? That's because I have been listening to this song since the late 80s! smile My excitement level for this song had died down

I'm feeling lately that it is his best song. It's absolutely brilliant, and in my mind, it captures what he is about so well.

I wrote a fair bit about it here around the time of its release on 4Ever, and am still so touched that it was chosen as the first song to be released after his death.

Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

It's a wonderful song.

Now if only we could get the original In a Large Room With No Light in a similar quality, considering we've had Moonbeam Levels in excellent quality for years.

I knew "Moonbeam Levels" from back in the Lovesexy years, when I started to go deep in my P knowledge, and my opinion of it never changed, even after its official release.

It's a really really great song, but not deserving the "myth" it achieved being unreleased and a "pleasure for elected people". Also other less deservely songs had the same destiny, many being a partial delusion when leaked and listened.

It fits definitely in the 1999 album, but it is not "1999" (the song) nor "Little Red Corvette".
Those 2 songs are masterpieces, "Moonbeam Levels" only falls near the masterpiece section.

I'm gonna jump on the radical bandwagon right here.
It's an absolute masterpiece.

It already was when we had it on the sped-up, distorted, full-of-hiss eighties bootleg version.
The pristine version did more than confirm this.

Get your hand on the pristine version than began circulating circa 2015~16 — october 2016, according to dannyd5050 — if you can.
The mastering is better.

Not to me. And more than that I didn't need to hear him singing about death and say I don't wanna die. Bad timing in my opinion. I know lots of people that had bootlegs liked it. I didn't. Not being released when it was.

For years I considered it over rated by the fans, but good. I chalked a lot of the praise up to it simply being a bootleg with decent sound quality.

You know im not really the most knowledgable Prince fan, ive only been a fan since 2004 and am defintley in the lowest 25% on this site, when it comes to a purple eyclopedic mind, even tho I do own all of his official phsyically released cd's (apart from Gold Nigga), You see I dont really like listening to bootlegg's as they often sound bloody awfull and can ruin the experience for me..(I do own T's 12 inch archive collection that's been pressed tho with proper factory cd's and case and booklet etc....but only because I was givin it and it does sound excellent)....and I am always forever thankfull for the much more older experienced fan's on here who are kind enough to share there knowledge of the vault and the unreleased song's it contain's ( even tho there is a few on here, who are abit to pompus and rude to the newer generation )...and one of the most mentioned song's before it was released just happened to be Moonbeam Level's. At first I was abit apprehensive to hear it when I brought 4ever, People tend to build these things up to unimaginable height's...especially when most others have not yet heard them ( Example - remember when Batman V Superman was 1st premiered...and everyone who saw it was saying that it was defintley the best superhero film ever,...and then it got released and our hearts sank because it was a complete turd...) Anyhow I did really end up loving the song....but I love Prince when he gets abit spiritual and psychedelic lyrically, so i have ended up listening to it quite alot since....and now Im super excited to hear Wonderfull Ass, and Dance Electric (ive never heard the andre version either) ...as ive heard great things on here about them also......so hope I adore them just as much....
