Prince: A musical family tree....

http://www.cnn.com/interactive/2016/04/entertainment/prince-musical-family-tree/

The influences of some of the 20th century’s best musicians could be heard in Prince’s work – and he in turn shared his musical gifts with many others.

I'll check it out, prince was so varied and so wide open to the other greats, they had to miss a ton of them.

as i thought, they didn't mention elvis, one of the most easily overlooked of Prince's big influences.

Because Prince had been inspired by a far greater variety of artists than only the few obvious funk acts (+Joni) mentioned. Because listing Carmen Electra and Rosie Gaines next to each other is insulting for Rosie. Because Chaka Khan is not just "an artist who recorded a Prince song" (and btw, Prince did NOT write I Feel For You for her), Chaka was a MASSIVE influence on Prince. And so on and so on.

A stupid article that looks like it was put together an intern with no musical knowledge.
