Prince was the funkiest, soulful and heatfelt musician I have ever heard sing or play. I am saddened that his gift has left us.

I think this was a terrific tribute; the best I think I've seen so far. He wasn't trying to imitate Prince but he still maintained a clear reverence for the source material. And Lenny has a sexy/sensual and confident vibe in his performing style that feels in a similar spirit to Prince.

Absolutely the BEST cover of WDC I've heard so far. The Cross was pretty good too. Excellent tribute Lenny! YASSSS!

And every time I hear these tributes it makes me even more sad because none of them can compare to the real thing. 😢

Found video last night of 3EG's 2014 London concert at Shepherd's Bush Empire. Amazing show, just balls to the walls rock. Still missing a real rock and roll tribute to Prince. I guess this is the closest we'll get.

I'd love to have a proper single of his versions. Hopefully, he records a studio version.

no tribute will ever Compare to Prince because there is only one Prince. His music will live on. We are his living tribute, I understand the saddness because he is not here, we will not see him preform... only thru his music will he live which is so cool....one day wink and yes he was a rocker..he did it ALL.

Love it, Lenny! That was really great.

Working with a full choir is something Prince should have done in his lifetime... (Obviously he did work with Sounds of Blackness, but nothing was ever released of these sessions except for some unrecognizable samples on the Batman album.)

Loved it. Finally something and somebody different. No more cloud guitars, Halloween costumes, rolling on the floor or Purple Rain butchering.

lol Amen to all of that. That was nice. Besides the fantastic Sheila E. tribute on BET Awards, this was the best I've seen.

Awesome tribute... Very well done and I respect that Lenny put his own spin on the songs and didn't try to just imitate Prince like Bruno Mars did. Would love for Lenny to release covers of "When Doves Cry" and "The Cross." Lenny's tribute and Sheila E.'s tribute have been the best.

As for Bruno, I don't think he meant it as disrespectful, but dressing up as Purple Rain Prince was pretty bad. Especially in a tribute so close to his death.

Lenny as everyone has said, was great.

Aside from the Madonna tribute, which everyone seemed to hate the minute they saw it, others tended to be well received initially. I know on Facebook and Twitter and in the media everyone was praising Bruno's performance. I thought it was awful. Lenny's performance didn't wow me either but I definitely preferred it over Bruno's.
