i remember reading that he was successfuly sued for eye hate u, I doubt it's true though. The era of submitting songs was pretty much over by the 80's though, still happened but... most of the artists were self-contained. also, accepting submissions is not something most people even feel comfortable with because we live in this sue happy country, MJ was sued a million times by songwriters, Prince was sued several times too.

indeed he did but that was in an italian court, italian courts, from what i've seen in the amanda knox case, are kinda kangaroo like. I wonder if he ever paid dime one to those folks. I didn't think it was justified. every song has something similar to another song.

Wasn't it Tyka or Sharon that sued him over "U Got The Look", saying he stole their song "Sho' Nuff Cookin'"?

Not sure about actual artists, but there were some fans that tried to give Prince their songs during the soundchecks of the "One Night Alone - Live" tour. There are some EPIC threads on those interactions!

Two stories: During NPGMC days, I had sent an IM to PP7 and told him / her about a new therapy technique called EMDR and wondered if this would also work with music/sound. The premise of EMDR (Eye movement desenstization and reprocessing) was to have a subject think of a traumatic event, while a therapist taps their knees, left, right, left, right, and the subject was to move their eyes in time with the taps. This helped the brain to process to traumatic events and moving it from one side of the brain to the other, and would help to decrease the effect of the trauma had on the subject. PP7 thanked me, and later Guitar was released on NPGMC in which the entire song moved from the left and right speakers throughout the entirety of the song. I always thought Prince had decided to see if it would work with music too.

Another story: I had emailed Prince 2009/2010 and asked him 3 times during the email where he was. I had actually emailed Lotus Flower Support and asked them if they could get it to where it needed to go and they replied back that they would forward it on. I had had a meditation in which I felt I needed to reach out to Prince. Not long after I emailed him he came out with Cause and Effect, "I am here, where are you?" And the lyrics seemed to fit as a response to the email too. Don't know if that is the case, but it felt right and it fit.

Not actually sending him songs to submit, but always thought it was cool if he was listening and responded through songs.

I remember a story about the Neptunes having a tough time remixing "TGRES" because it was such a lackluster boring ass song, that they didn't quite know what to do with it. Although I'm sure Jason Nevins could have pissed on it and made it relatively more interesting.

Pharrell made several attempts to contact Prince but the phone calls were never returned. The song sat on the shelf until he was urged by other artists to release it as a solo effort.

It sounds like a Prince song. The rhythm, the melody. It could have been a very, very cool collaboration, and frankly it could have given Prince a boost to the career that he sometimes needed when it came to radio awareness.

MJ got sued? God poor sod, he must have been pissed off coz surely even he didn't believe he'd actually written a song?

Somebody was always after him everytime he came out with an album smh
