Not really, darlin...

Actually, I have a flight in a coupla hours so I was packing and tying up a few loose ends...and I certainly didn't want to deprive anyone from realizing their life's purpose and facilitating a sense of value by positioning them to feel compelled to Google for me...Sorry...just allowing anyone so inclined to live out their true destiny.

Thanx, by the way.

Anyhoo...Yes, DC seemed genuine in his remarks about P.

Wasn't there a pic of them floating around several years ago where they were at some sporting event or another?

lol

Okay fair enough LMAO....

I am not so sure about the pic lol maybe? Also, I thought when I first saw that skit I was like Uh-oh Prince would be mad. I am suprised he laughed it off.

But Charlie told Dave the Prince story and Dave did that skit. Charlie said in an interview that he tagged along because Eddie and Prince were more of friends. Charlie said that he tried to talk to Prince at an LA basketball game and Prince didn't acknowledge him. Ouch. eek

I do not remember Charlie saying anything of the sort. neutral Why can't brothers just kick it like brothers do.

Hmmm...

That's a hard call for me...Maybe back in the '70s when he was using the ejacucaster to send streams of Jergens into the audience? Nah. I dunno. P's certainly had his moments, but honestly, I've never taken any of it to heart. I simply shrug, chuckle and write it off as "P being P".

I realize that isn't everyone's Pfan experience, but I looked under the sofa cushions and couldn't find any effs to give.

cool

Laughing and joking . Kicking like brothers do. People on this board are convienced that Prince walked around with a stick up his ass 24 hours a day when know one who knew has said antything of the sort.

Everybody said he like to laugh and joke around. You guys are stuck on this narrative that has no basis in realitiy. Oh and he never sued anyone he sent cease and desist orders. Now the estate is going buck wild with more takedowns then he did and I hear silence.

So if Prince did not feel like speaking to Charlie that has something to do with brothers killing each other. What are you on? How do you even make that comparision. I know everytime more than two brothers are togehter some folks get neverous but really.

There is an interview where Charlie said Prince was good with the skit and another were after he died he had great things to say. You take every little dis and blow it out of proportion.

And while he was alive, Charilie said Prince shunned him.

WTF you mean if two brothers together making people nervous? People have more things to worry about than being paranoid over two brothers hanging out.

And don't get me started how you can get offended yourself, so stop.

Can we stop with the bickering on this thread...

Yeah, so Prince and Charlie Murphy had a misunderstanding. Big deal. MOVE on to the positive stuff.

Since the moderaters think this interview is the same thing as the pick story. Here is the pick story again.

During the Purple Rain Tour, a heavy set young woman yelled "I love you" from the audience. To which, Prince responded "I love you too' and gave her a pick that said "Love God". The next morning that same young woman was woken by her 11 year old brother. She apparently sleep with the pick clutched her fist. That 11 year old boy was Dave Chappelle.

Murphy's got a much more blunt personality than both his brother and Prince. So, they didn't always hit it off. Who cares? P was hard to read sometimes. Hell, maybe, he didn't even recognize him or maybe he was teasing/fronting because he beat at basketball.. When Prince was asked abou the Chappelle sketch in a radio interview around 2006 or so, he didn't seem upset at either Chappelle or Murphy.

Prince wasn't pissed about the skit. He was clearly amused, and had the best comeback/retaliation of all time.

This cover still makes me laugh. As Chapelle said, "What am I going to do? Sue him for using an image of me dressed as him? That's checkmate, right there." falloff

Short piece about Dave Chappelle speaking on Prince's death, amongst other people...

Dave Chappelle Talks Prince, Bill Cosby, Trump in Rare Interview

"So many bad things happened to our heroes: Muhammad Ali had Parkinson's; Richard Pryor had M.S.; Prince died too young," comedian says

Dave Chappelle talked Prince, Bill Cosby, hosting Saturday Night Live after Election Day and the state of comedy under Donald Trump in a rare interview.

Dave Chappelle on 'SNL': ...ave to See

"Hillary Clinton" singing Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," host's powerful monologue and Chris Rock cameo in Election Day sketch highlight episode

Speaking to the New York Times ahead of the arrival of his Netflix specials, the comedian discussed the death of Prince, who the comedian caricatured in a legendary Chappelle's Show skit.

"It's a hard thing to talk about. I looked up to him like everybody did. I didn’t know him that well, but the times that we hung out were fun and very memorable and often funny. He was very generous with his advice, and he was very generous with his access," Chappelle said of Prince.

"He fostered a community among artists. He used to have these parties where we would go over to his house, and there would be all these musicians that I admired, and they’d just do these jam sessions in the basement. Everybody at the party was playing something. I think when he died there was the icon dying, but then there was this pillar in the community of people dying."

Chappelle also talked about Bill Cosby, who was a major influence on his comedy; Cosby's legacy has been permanently marred by decades of allegations of sexual assaults from dozens of accusers.

"The Bill Cosby thing was tough for me. I'm not saying that to detract from his alleged victims at all. But he was a hero of mine," Chappelle said.

"So many bad things happened to our heroes: Muhammad Ali had Parkinson's; Richard Pryor had M.S.; Prince died too young. And Bill just looked like one of the guys who was going to get to the finish line and just die of old age. And this happened. Jesus Christ. It’s awful."

In the New York Times interview, Chappelle also talked about his now-classic SNL monologue in the first post-Election Day episode and why it's difficult for comedians to poke fun at Trump, even if the president seems like an easy target.

"[Trump's] so skewed, it's hard to find an angle that sounds fresh," Chappelle said. "If you talk about him, it’s almost like you're part of the chorus and not a soloist."

Chappelle will release his first two Netflix comedy specials, The Age of Spin and Deep in the Heart of Texas, on March 21st, with a third special featuring...w material also planned for 2017.

Chiiiild, I can't even deal with TBBT as it is right now. It's the same flat characters, half-dozen stale jokes, etc etc. All that shit in an adolescent???

You mean like that?

Again, my statement stands, and I find it even more troubling that this is seen as so silly, while this actual troll can tell the world how hurt she is by someone using the word "tranny". Miss me with all the semantics, and own your bullshit. bored2

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
