How Prince Was Able to Like Every Song He Put Out..?

The title's pretty self-explanatory...I have a problem with the stuff I write and think they're garbage ususally the day after they're written. I was wondering if anyone knew if he said anything on how he came over this in interviews or such (if it was ever an issure to him...)? Thanks. wink

He was able to put out every song he liked because he kept all the songs he didn't like (and that might be 90 % of them) in the vault!

Right, I understand that, but what I was asking was HOW he came appreciate what he wrote, and felt confident enough to release some of it to the public?

To be fair, he did release a few songs that 'only a mother could love'...

that's a good question and I can see ur point since I'm questioning myself everything I create and produce till the dawn wink
and he wasn't only that confident about the songs he wrote but about pretty much everything he did - the music, the lyrics, the performances, the clothes, the acting ... everything.

I think the main criteria was his firm believe that all he did and could do was a gift from god ... his talent, his creativity, the music he dreamed, the words that he didn't create but came to him ... I think his faith was his strongest feature.

we like to question what we create cause WE created it ... it's about us ... it's personal ... and as such it may not be considered as good enough ... but u don't question a gift!
