I am not sure what LG has to do with M2 and Eric. M2 was working for Prince not LG. M2 apparently willingly went to those JW classes. The last time I looked LG had concert dates lined up.

Not only that but Bria gave 40,000.00 to P's charity? What did Bria get in return, tax relief? (Insert off color joke here) Seems like a lot of creative financing going on, way over my head.

In the info I posted from 2007 he gave 10k to Cat Dyson who I do not think was even in his band anymore at that time.

I think since this was set up as a private foundation and he was not getting donation for it he may have been in the clear to give money to whom ever he pleased. I am sure if these were loans their or investments it is a whole different story

Kinda, sorta looks like creative financing, but who knows. We don't see his personal returns (sound familiar?) to really know what was going on. I am curious about the property owned by the charity. Which lots were in L4OA name and who paid the property taxes on them? How were those particular taxes paid? I'm not making a statement about it, I'm just curious. Anyone know?

At a certain amount gift taxes apply though. Some deals are legally right but morally wrong, but rich people have different rules than the rest of us. For instance if he put Bria on his payroll at 140 per year then have Bria donate 40 to his charity, who all does that benefit tax-wise? The tax man is getting millions from his estate now.

I think I printed out the list. I will have to look some of the property was owned by his corporations and I think the church that was stolen was owned by L4OA. I think Turks and Caicos was owned by one of the corporations and now their is litigation around that property.

There are two plots across the street from Paisley that were owned by the charity. I wonder if the Estate could eventually do something with that land. It's over 20 acres of land. I'm sure they could buy out the daycare.

There is a next level Court he could appeal to however it is discretionary whether that Court would accept his appeal.

The Affidavit filed by Vaughn Millette the CEO of Jobu is explosive.

There is quit a bit of redactions but I will post what I can.

  1. On 7-7-16 Jobu entered into an Agreement with the Estate for production of the Tribute Show based upon material representations of Koppelman and Londell with respect to artist talent and charity component issues.
  2. Koppelman and Londell did something to agencies and managers for the artist, which created additional obstacles to Jobu's ability to perform (what they did was redacted.)
  3. Jobu negotiated due to representations by K & L that the Tribute would provide a significant component of the proceeds to appropriate charities that honored P's vision and mission. The charity component was essential in securing major artists.
  4. K & L confirmed they had ___________ and members of the Purple Family and other A-list talent.
  5. Details and representations from K & L began to unravel and caused Jobu concern.
  6. K & L continued to press for their initial payment under the Agreement which was commissionable for them.
  7. K was concerned about his ability to maintain his "lucrative" role as an expert for the Estate, K pressed Jobu to continue under the Agreement. K made clear there would be consequences if Jobu failed to go forward.
  8. There was an announcement on August 23, 2016 (we need to find out what was announced) and that killed Jobu's ability to produce the Tribute. K & L has represented to artist agencies and managers that ___________would be a primary charity for the Tribute.
  9. This announcement raised questions regarding the Estate's dealings and transparency. The Estate and K & L knew that had ____(I think it says "misled") Jobu from inception regarding the charity component for the Show.
  10. Jobu then notified the Estate of its intent to rescind the Agreement due to the systemic and material _____ of K & L.
  11. Apparently Jobu filed a claim against the Estate that was denied on 9-8-16?
  12. There was some sort of interim Agreement between the Estate and Jobu. "These claims are in addition to Jobu Presents' claim again Mr. Koppelman for his tortious conduct after rescission of the Agreement." ....(those are fighting words).
  13. "Consistent with his threats throughout the relationship, Mr. Koppelman intentionally destroyed Jobu Presents' profitable agreement with a third party band unrelated to the Prince Estate."
  14. Mr. Millette met with Koppelman in March 2017, and recorded the conversation, and he attached a transcript of the conversation to his Affidavit.

I know Graceland has talked about a small hotel in the future. I'd love if they could eventually use the land for that or an add-on to Paisley Park. Maybe a hogel with gift shop. It would be nice to be able to buy merchandise without having to do a tour (and for locals without having to order online and pay $12 shipping for a $15 keychain). And if these Celebration events are going to be an annual thing (plus other stuff they might do) having lodging so close would be great for out of towners.

I cant read this article unless I subscribe to the WSJ.

I can get it to open on my cellphone but no where else. I will try and see if I can cut and paste from my phone but that is not always easy to do.

I can tell you in fills in some of the blanks that were redacted and we now know that Kopplemen was promising big name acts that had no idea about this concert and that Kopplemen and McMillian told Jobu that the concert proceeds would go to a charity never telling Jobu that Paisley Park would be the charity however Paisley Park is not a non-profit and Jobu belived that could get performers to do the show for low fees since it was a charity event. Jobu put out money only to find out that would still have to pay big fees.

Kopplemen then offerd to lend Jobu 2 million dollars to help with the cost. The loan was given but the artist were not lined up to do the show and Joub wanted out. Mr. Kopplemen then threaten to ruin Jobu business if they did not proceed with the concert which apparently is the conversation that was recorded.

Kopplemen is saying Jobu owes him money. Jobu is saying they lost money and the family is saying that a fee was paid to Kopplemen and McMillan by the estate for putting the deal together and that K and M breached their fiducary duty. ( Which I guess is another way of saying that were trying to cut side deals for themselves and not looking out for the best interest of the estate. ) Correct me if I am wrong on that one.

This article give a little more info than the WSJ. I am sad to say I am not shocked one bit.

McMillian came flying out of the woodwork to represent the estate and it made him suspect to me from the begining. This was a means to make money off of commisions from bad deals that have not benefited the estate. I hope law enforcement investigates these two. Beware of defending Prince associates without all the facts. Does anyone know if Lonnie and Koppleman have money in Jobu or why they picked this company?

------------

Almost exactly one year after the death of Prince, two of his siblings have returned to court claiming the trust in charge of a tribute concert breached its fiduciary commitment when it asked an obscure concert promoter to organize, with undisclosed ties to the trust, and promote a benefit concert to honor the pop star. According to the Wall Street Journal, the trust failed to disclose it had secretly loaned the promoter money and had a financial interest in a concert that took place in October at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minn. The sold-out show lasted four-and-a-half hours, and included performances from Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, John Mayer, Anita Baker, Christina Aguilera, Jessie J and Tori Kelly.

As a result, in January, two of Prince’s heirs (sister Tyka Nelson and half-brother Omarr Baker) filed a lawsuit seeking $7 million for mismanaging profits from the October concert. Last week, a new development brought the latest chapter of intrigue in the case — Prince’s family members introduced a secretly-taped recording into court that showed executives with Bremer Trust, which had been appointed as the temporary administrator of the musician’s estate, had secretly loaned Jobu Presents $2 million to secure the rights for the concert, according to the WSJ. Those two executives — L. Londell McMillan and Charles Koppelman — allegedly steered the contract to the Jobu Presents, a company that had only been formed a few months prior.

Prince’s family members have brought forth a recording of a conversation between Koppelman and Jobu Chief Executive Vaughn Millette with the two discussing the loan. The recording, that Millette taped, was filed under seal in probate court by Baker and Jackson, and reviewed by the Wall Street Journal. On the tape, Millette alleges that Kopppelman forced him into taking the $2 million loan to pay the estate, according to the WSJ.

The new filing states, “Now it has become clear that the agreement with Jobu Presents was tainted by an undisclosed conflict of interest.”

The recording also suggests that Bremer Trust, a Minneapolis-area bank, breached fiduciary duty since it was aware of the Koppelman’s loan and failed to disclose the agreement..

On the recording, a voice attributed to Koppelman reportedly said he wanted his money back from Millette and asserted “you stole $2 million from me.” Koppelman goes on to threaten Millette’s reputation and finances.

WSJ reports that Koppelman said, “I loaned you the money in good faith, and you paid me by just being a total dick.” He adds, “So now that I don’t care about anything other than getting our money back, it’s going to cost you anything and everything that you have: Your reputation, any money you have, any money your family has. I’m just going to go get it now.”

Prince’s heirs have urged the court not to release Bremer from liability until they can ascertain whether or not the trust violated its fiduciary duty, even though Comerica Bank & Trust took over administrator duties for the estate in January.

Jobu backed out of the agreement on Aug. 24, just months prior to the show and demanded its money back plus damages, which Bremer returned by September. But, according to certain siblings, Jobu still paid McMillan a commission that Bremer never attempted to recoup. Koppelman was also reportedly owed a 10 percent commission on advance payment for the event. In addition, some of Prince’s heirs alleged that the concert didn’t make as much money as it could have because of a decision to use Jobu over other promoters such as Live Nation. McMillan went on to organize the show himself, earning a $116,500 commission.

Bremer is also currently facing suspicion of mismanagement over the fact that they signed a $30 million licensing deal with Universal Music Group. The deal may be void due to concerns that those recordings may already be licensed to a competitor.

This article is incorrect as to who performed at the Tribute. Remember John Mayer, and Christina cancelled. I dont think Anita Baker was there?? Was she? How about Jesse J? Why dont journalist freaking fact check anymore??

This article is incorrect as to who performed at the Tribute. Remember John Mayer, and Christina cancelled. I dont think Anita Baker was there?? Was she? How about Jesse J? Why dont journalist freaking fact check anymore??

They were suppose to be at the show but they cancelled out. Are we looking at unethical or illegal behavior?

The article states they actually performed at the Tribute.

Not illegal behavior.

Breach of fiduciary trust of the Estate.

Depending on the outcome Londell could be sanctioned by the attorney disciplinary counsel if

someone files a complaint against him.

So Lonnie and Kopplemen will at the least have to return their commissions to the estate and deal with their reps being tarnished?
