I just emailed Paisley Park and got a response:

Hi,

The cloud guitars are completely sold out. We will have more in later this

year. Please subscribe to our email list if you haven't already and follow

us on Facebook at Official Paisley Park for important updates.

Sincerely,

Paisley Park Team

That is true, more colors are on the way, but white will not be offered again.

Do tell! Did PP give you that info? Which colors?

The response I got was a direct response to asking about White Clouds being in stock. So, I would stay in touch with them just in case.

Thanks. For sure. I go on a regular basis, so I'll try and get the deal from them and report back.

The real deal is they are out of white cloud guitars, not to be resold again, they are moving on to the next color. I have 14 emails back and forth with them on this.

In the above reply when they said they will have more in this year, they mean cloud guitars in general, not white.

I wasn't doubting what you said. I just meant I would see if I could get anymore info on the new colors.

Whatever the next color is, I am getting two, and having one painted white smile

Glad I ordered mine early and have it. The white cloud is my favorite.
Has anyone received a blue cloud from PP? I haven't seen one yet. Be nice to see pics of one here on the forum. Do the blue clouds come in the same purple hard case?

I was so close to ordering one. To the point that I've got the Paypal request for the deposit from PP. But I just don't know. It's a lot of money, possibly not an exact replica and plus I think Prince would think "get your own guitar, you don't need to copy mine". Not that I profess to know what he would think. Just a feeling

I had this last-minute "pre" buyer's remorse back when they offered them through NPGMC. I had it one click away from ordering too, but stopped.

Glad I did - it's a lot of money and I didn't make then what I make now . . . and even now, I don't have one. If it was under $1000, I would probably do it.

What are the replicas that Rusan is making going for? I hear there's a long wait on those. I wish I had the true dimensions of his original cloud guitar to compare to the Schecter. I know the headstock is longer.

Thank you for posting the pics, the review and your experience! Thinking about buying one as well. I don't play guitar, for me the looks are the most important. Of course, it would feel good if it also plays well. You never know if I start lessons. razz

Gave the guitar a quick dust ... and here it is. Was smaller than I was expecting but then you forget that we're use to seeing it in the hands of Prince all these years. The finish is fantastic, pristine paint all over, nothing out of place, no chips or marks.

Guitar needed a good tune up, but once tuned it sounded fantastic. Unfortunately I only have a cheap practice amp and I haven't played for months, but even in my novice hands it has a great feel and tone. Beautiful movement up and down the frets, great play in the strings for some funky bends.

Only downside I can see so far is wanting to give it a bit of a thrash if playing something a bit heavier (gave it a tentative spin through She's Always In My Hair) ... its so beautiful I didn't want to abuse the thing!! biggrin

I'm by no means a guitar expert, but any questions happy to try and answer...

Greetings Cloud brother! wink

Oh man, the colour decision! I couldn't split them:

White - The original, absolutely iconic.

Peach - My favourite Prince music played on this one.

Yellow - Perhaps the most recognised by the public these days (courtesy of Cream?)

Blue - My favourite colour in the world.

In the end I figured because I couldn't split them, I should go something else entirely - so naturally, purple. smile

And I got buyer's remorse and cancelled my order.

Oh damn, that's a shame. sad

For those looking for something a bit more hand-crafted than the Schecters, but not able to afford a 'genuine' Cloud from Dave Rusan or Andy Beech, this recently listed 'Parade-era' style Black Cloud made by Steve Stahl might be worth checking out:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Prince-Cloud-Guitar-Batman-Era-EMG-SA-EMG-85-Pickups/182561857128?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D40130%26meid%3Da6fc5662fc884d9f82b4c3a8b92e6b4b%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D182549007774

Stahl has made a white Cloud for Jellybean Johnson previously, and there's a video on YouTube of it:

https://youtu.be/VJZphsMhPCs

Both look pretty decent, so might be worth checking out if you're looking for a quality hand-made Cloud.
