Is it any good? Well researched, or just a quick cash-in created after the death of Prince?

How many pages?

Thanks for the info!

I've seen other issues in this series (on the Beatles, the Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, and Metallica) and they've been quite good, so I'm hopeful about this one. I have bought the previous ones in Barnes & Nobles

http://amglifestylestore.com/p-2040-prince.aspx - Here it says "24 studio albums" - so definitely not every album...

Would that cover every album that was available to buy in a store ? (As opposed to internet only and digital releases and giveaways)

This barely hit the newsstands and it's already sold out and out of stock from the publishers. Mumio must have bought them all!

It's riddled with errors and provides little to no information about his latter albums. I paid $10 for it and would not recommend it.

Its a great magazine.I picked up a copy for $12.99. I then showed it off to my aunt and she wanted to know if it was hers.I told her no way! But I felt bad so I bought my aunt a copy too.
When I went to buy it,the wal greens cashier had told she read it the other night .It does cover every album and the pictures included are very nice

Just finished reading it. It adds minimal if any new information to those orgers who followed Prince closely throughout his entire career. However, it is respectful towards Prince and is rather enjoyable to read). The photos are aligned with the period of each album, but typically are ones already highly circulated. The writer obviously likes Prince, offering some type of praise for most of the albums.

I spotted a couple of comments that didn't seem to fit, the most glaring one is that suggested that Rave "remains a favorite among fans". I know that all of his less acclaimed output has received more praise here since he passed including Rave, but if anything it was his core fans that were most dismissive of Rave when it was released. He also seemed overly critical of Crystal Ball. While he was right to characterize the initial reaction to the release as being one of disappointment, he didn't say anything positive about it in contrast to his positive spin on most of the other releases. He even singled out the song Crystal Ball as a "test of listener's patience". Well, I guess if you are mostly a fan of Top 40, then yes biggrin .

Some of the errors I found in the first half of the magazine:

Stating that in "Head" Prince sings to his potential lover "I sincerely want to fuck the taste out of your mouth."

Referring to a track on Purple Rain as "Computer Love."

Reporting that the first lyric on Lovesexy was Ingrid Chavez singing "Welcome to the New Power Generation. The reason why my voice is so clear is there's no smack in my home."

Captioning a concert photo from 1981 as Prince with his band, The Revolution.

In the latter part, it has the wrong release year for Chaos and Disorder and also states Prince passed away in May 2016.

Agreed! I bought it and it's ok, but I expected a little more. No really new information / insights and a lot of tiny mistakes that are really annoying. And I can't (under)stand why in a magazine like this, where it's all about chronology, they use photos from certain eras in chapters about other eras (lots of Purple Rain live-pics in the chapter about ATWIAD, Lovesexy pics in the SOTT-piece and such). It's not like there are no photographs at all from certain years, is there?

If they put just a bit more TLC into the production of this magazine it would be more enjoyable and serve as a nice document to the collection.

I ordered it mail order from the publisher. It would have been nice if they'd sent me a copy that wasn't tatty looking. Not cool.
