Prince's Best Dance Move

It's a work of art. The microphone does the splits with him. It's so perfectly executed, it looks like the footage goes in reverse. cool

But really that whole microphone thing he did in the 80s, where he tipped it out, then tapped it back in w/ his foot, and twirled it around his leg, etc.

Undeniably slick, but not the type of moves you’d attempt in a club after a few drinks. The “Wooden Leg” on the other hand…

Uh, that's the wooden leg. Jerome mocked the Oak Tree in this vid, then they chopped that tree down. And did the wooden leg.

Dang, I was going to suggest it was at the MTV Music Video Awards, when he was laying down, came up into a split, rose and slung the yellow cloud around to the front, leaped off the riser, and nailed the opening riff to "Gett Off".

But THIS is just flat-out awesome! Thank you for posting it!

The tree may be chopped down but the wood's still there. Especially the 3rd leg.

Yes, in terms of choreography, physical fitness and timing, that’s probably true. One thing that I liked about the young Prince over other dancers of the time though (you know who I mean), is that he had a looser, funkier style, closer to James Brown. I liked the fact that he wasn’t afraid to inject humour into his routines and act the fool (as Miles said, Prince = James Brown + Jimi Hendrix + Charlie Chaplin).
