The "Remaster" of COMPUTER BLUE that came out a few years ago...

A few years ago, from seemingly out of nowhere, a 'rematered/remixed' version of COMPUTER BLUE came out.. I don't know if it was a true leak, or something official, or a fan made deal BUY HOLY MOLEY DID IT RAAAAWWWWKKKKK!!!!

Just a brain-bursing, manic tsunami of FUNK and ROCK and BLOOD and SWEAT PISS and VINEGAR!!!

It was almost like a new song I've never heard even though I've heard COMPUTER BLUE about 10,324 times since 1984.

It became quickly evident that if that much immediate and searing improvement could be done with this track...then ALL of Prince's back catalogue could really benefit from a remix/remastering.

Did anyone else hear this track?? It really was incredible.

I heard the snippets of the full version that T sent out for proof of it existing in collectors hands that was from the source.

I agree.
The longer versions of this song really rock.

Most likely the June P.Rain deluxe release will include at least one of those extended Computer Blue tunes.

.

I believe you may be referring to the 'reconstructed' version that was assembled from the various best available sources to simulate the full length completed track.

.

There is also a 'in-progress' version of the full length track that is in reasonably good sound quality. Which is part of what was used to make the above fan version, along with the Studio Nights ~8 minute pre-'Take Me With U' PR album edit, and the best available circulating 12 minute final version.

.

T did send out snippets of the vaunted hallway speech segment as proof of its existence in superior quality among private collectors back in the early 2000s.
