who needs 24 different mixes of the same song, especially if the differences are
only mono / stereo / 5.1 / new mix / 2012 mix / 2000 mix / 1988 mix / etc etc.

There's a demand for it in the Beatles fan world. Do you think it shouldn't be allowed to be released because it's not for you personally?

I saw a post on some bootlegs website where a guy was trying to recreate the entire Sgt. Peppers recording process, day by day, using bootlegs and what was known of what was recorded each day. Insane maybe, but impressive. We all need a hobby.

they can release a 15 disc boxset of different TAKES on every single Sgt Peppers song,
they don't need to ask me if it's allowed.

• The term 'remastered' can mean several different things when it comes to this release. Will WB simply be adjusting audio levels of the current release and call it greatly improved now hand over your cash, will they have an engineer use the original stereo mix to get some more life out of it or will professionals go back to the original analogue tapes and do a completely new mix which would be best for us but also costly and time consuming? Some good examples of the latter include the 2003 remaster of Pink Floyd DSOTM and Fleetwood Mac remaster of Rumors - both incredible remastering examples

• This PR release has been in the works for a few years now so who knows what tracklist, direction, Prince involvement and changes made after April 21, 2016 will contribute to the project. A recent comment by the lead PP archivest mentioned Prince's desk in his office has been left 'as-is' from April 21 and included details and workings for the PR remastering project

• Someone mentioned the WB press release announcing the details and release date with reference to the exact wording and there is certainly some key info to be found there...my interpretation is the two additional 'albums' of unreleased material are just compilations rather than actual completed albums by Prince eg Roadhouse Garden. The two live concert films may not have anything to do with PR and may just be random titles depending on source material available or any of the VHS releases we all know so well 'for the first time on DVD'. Regarding the quality of these live releases who knows; the only Prince concert that I am aware of that was shot on film using a multi camera setup was the Controversy tour for the aborted Second Coming project - I mention this because film or HD video are the only sources that can be used to create a high definition release on Blu Ray, etc. It really is a shame that not a single PR concert was shot on film as the spectacle and success of the tour certainly warranted it

On an serious note, if it really is gonna be released June 9th, then it would be up for pre order by now. We don't even know the tracklist. I feel if we continue to hear nothing by April 21st, then it's an chance it's either delayed or cancelled.

Roger Waters (ex-Pink Floyd) has an album coming out May 19th, and that has no tracklist nor preorder links yet either. The Buckingham/McVie album's tracklist was just announced today, and that's getting released June 9th.

so for whatever reason(s), it seems some of these highly anticipated (by some including me) albums are getting late reveals. Frustrating, but not really unprecedented nowadays.

If this thing has gotten delayed, then I'm done with it. I've already waited 3 years since it was announced. Besides, Game of Thrones will return in July, so I'll be an happy Panda.

seriously though. let's just wait another 10 days. if they don't release some details
by then, i'd say there's some problem somewhere along the pipeline. still doesn't
