It stands to note Brownmark's "Bang Bang" is on there, as well as an almost hour long behind the scenes of that shoot. Plus 90 seconds of "Scandalous", which he also directed.

PrinceVault says he never did perform it live. Interestingly, it dates to 1986, and was tracked a couple of days after Camille was done. It's that weird in between time of Parade stuff, then the oncoming SOTT. I would have like to seen him do this live as well. It's still socially relevant.

I think an artist like Pink, Jill Scott, or a male like The Weeknd doing it today would be quite an interesting thing to have on radio. And stay with me on this - it actually sounds like something Depeche Mode could do. Think about it - heavy sound, a monotone voice who once sang "Personal Jesus" making a socially conscious song. Hell, they could go the KLF route, and have Patti re-sing some of her parts (the way KLF had Tammy Wynette on "Justified and Ancient").

I absolutely love this song. I never had heard it until after Prince passed and I think it was Camille Paglia who mentioned it in an article in April , which lead me to it. It's such a powerful song. Thank you for the link!

This is the remix without Prince's vocals and instumentation. The original is much better.

U might not like the taste, but I'm still going to stick your face in this Funk

Never heard this song before. While it might be a great song, I only listened to it up to the point where the incest incident. That's enough for me. Sorry.

It's a heavy song, but was a single and minor hit for Patti. I remember buying the cassingle. "I Can Fly" was the b-side, and I loved that song, too. Prince's version is floating around out there, and it's pretty much the same.

Rice has a lot of Prince/Paisley related stuff on that account. Heaven Must Be Near, an Ingrid Chavez press kit, Time Waits for No One, Thieves in the Temple, etc...

.
I'd like to know who all appears in that video. Do I see Eric Leeds? Is that P guitar-dancing to her right? Who's on drums?
This is a slightly different version than the album cut, where P's background vocals are more prominent.

No Prince is not in the video. That's not Eric Leeds either. It's part of the NPG hornz though. That's Brian and Cathy, and I don't know the 3rd guy.

Thanks, Latin! I've had that song in my head all day... Leave it to P to write a catchy tune for such a depressing subject. He could write a hook like no one else. And props to Patty for belting it out so well- that is a hard song to sing, not to mention at the Apollo, of all places.

Ironically, Patti was my first-ever concert. Don't think I was more than 4 or 5. The Whispers opened up. I was a nervous wreck, largely because our seats where high up, and, back then, I was seriously afraid of heights. Couple that with a sister stomping onto the stage, kicking off her shoes, hair looking like a soul Mohawk...and yet, I had no qualms at the time about watching the "Thriller," nor The Making of on VHS!
